Sink strength calculations of dislocations and loops using OKMC [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Materials, 2013
We calculate the sink strength of dislocations and toroidal absorbers using Object Kinetic Monte Carlo and compare with the theoretical expressions. We get good agreement for dislocations and loop-shaped absorbers of 3D migrating defects, provided that the volume fraction is low, and fair agreements for dislocations with 1D migrating defects.

Microwave diagnostics of magnetic field strengths in solar flaring loops [PDF]

open access: yesScience China Technological Sciences, 2020
We have performed microwave diagnostics of the magnetic field strengths in solar flare loops based on the theory of gyrosynchrotron emission. From Nobeyama Radioheliograph observations of three flare events at 17 and 34 GHz, we obtained the degree of circular polarization and the spectral index of microwave flux density, which were then used to map the

An assessment of the strength of knots and splices used as eye terminations in a sailing environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Research into knots, splices and other methods of forming an eye termination has been limited, despite the fact that they are essential and strongly affect the performance of a rope.

Open-loop recycling of post-consumer PET to closed-loop chemically recyclable high-performance polyimines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Intriguing high-performance polyimines (PI) were designed from diamines recovered by open-loop recycling of postconsumer PET bottles by microwave-assisted aminolysis.

An open-loop approach to study the stochastic properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Randomness is an inevitable aspect of biological networks. It has been long accepted that variability of components in a network can propagate throughout the network. In this thesis, we introduce a method that allows us to decompose the total variability

Anterior cruciate ligament remnant‐preserving and re‐tensioning reconstruction: a biomechanical comparison study of three different re‐tensioning methods in a porcine model

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2021
Background With the developments in the arthroscopic technique, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) remnant-preserving reconstruction is gradually gaining attention with respect to improving proprioception and enhancing early revascularization of the graft.

Dependence of Coronal Loop Temperature on Loop Length and Magnetic Field Strength

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2018
Abstract The temperature characteristics of solar coronal loops over a wide range of lengths and magnetic field strengths are investigated by means of numerical simulations. A very high correlation between magnetic field strength (B 0) and maximum temperature (T max) is found.

Structure deformation characterizations of the warp-knitted metal mesh fabric with thermomechanical treatment

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Textiles, 2022
In this paper, thermomechanical treatment is employed to eliminate the internal stress of the metal wire and the residual torque of the loop generated by knitting.

All Optical Stabilizations of Nano-Structure-Based QDash Semiconductor Mode-Locked Lasers Based on Asymmetric Dual-Loop Optical Feedback Configurations

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
We report feedback-induced frequency oscillations using a power-split-ratio through asymmetric dual-loop optical feedback (Loop I: ~2.2 km and Loop II: ~20 m) subject to a self-mode-locked two-section QDash laser emitting at 1550 nm and operating at 21 ...

Kekuatan Geser dan Pola Patahan Loop Space Maintainer yang Dibuat dengan Teknik Spot Welding Elektrik

open access: yesJournal of Dentistry Indonesia, 2015
The aim of this research was to study the effect of spot variations on shear strength of spot welds in an electric loop space maintainer. Stainless steel wire of 0.8 mm diameter and nickel chromium crwon for lower second molar of temporary teeth were ...
