Timemaps for Improving Performance of LoRaWAN
ICC 2020 - 2020 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2020In this paper, we propose Timemaps, a new scheduling scheme to improve the performance of LoRaWAN. The idea is to build a temporal map of all transmissions of IoT devices by a Gateway to schedule transmissions and avoid collisions. A device when performing a Join operation includes its traffic description in the request.

Challenges and Experiment with LoRaWAN
2017Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) or (LPWA) is a type of wireless telecommunication network designed to allow long range communications at a low bit rate among things (connected objects), such as sensors operated on a battery. The characteristics of extremely long communication range and low power provide more feasible, reasonable wireless ...

LoRaWAN is a worldwide deployed IoT security protocol. We provide an extensive analysis of the version 1.0, which is the currently deployed version, and we show that it suffers from several weaknesses. We introduce several attacks, including practical ones, that breach the network availability, data integrity, and data confidentiality, and target ...

A Modular Hybrid Simulator for LoRaWAN
2020 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Networks and Telecommunications Systems (ANTS), 2020Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) is considered as a prime choice for Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity as they provide low power data transmission over a wide range of communication. A simulation analysis gives an idea of how the deployed IoT network is going to behave and what kind of challenges it can face.

Although short-range wireless communication explicitly targets local and regional applications, range continues to be a highly important issue. The range directly depends on the so-called link budget, which can be increased by the choice of modulation and coding schemes.

Routing in LoRaWAN: Overview and Challenges
IEEE Communications Magazine, 2020LPWAN technologies are playing a major role in the IoT scenario due to their extensive radio range, use of free frequency bands, and low energy consumption. Among these technologies, longrange WAN (LoRaWAN) transmits through several kilometers with data rates up to 5.5 kb/s, making it useful for applications such as smart city monitoring, precision ...

Availability Vulnerabilities Evaluation to LoRaWAN
2020LoRaWAN as one of the newest protocols in the Internet of Things ecosystem represents a whole new area in cybersecurity research. In this protocol, security is focused on data integrity and confidentiality and most the research that analyse its security only examined the availability property of the protocol from the performance or join-procedure ...
