Magnetic monopoles and Lorentz force
The formulation of a generalized classical electromagnetism that includes both electric and magnetic charges, is explored in the framework of two potential approach.

Lorentz Force Velocimetry [PDF]
We describe a noncontact technique for velocity measurement in electrically conducting fluids. The technique, which we term Lorentz force velocimetry (LFV), is based on exposing the fluid to a magnetic field and measuring the drag force acting upon the magnetic field lines.

The role of non-axisymmetry of magnetic flux rope in constraining solar eruptions
The competition between different components of the Lorentz force defines whether a solar eruption fails or not. Here, the authors show a new Lorentz force component, which plays a major role in preventing magnetic flux ropes from erupting successfully.

The ponderomotive Lorentz force [PDF]
This paper describes a curious phenomenon: a particle in a rapidly varying potential is subject to an effective magnetic-like force. This force is in addition to the well-known ponderomotive force, but it has not been shown to exist before except for the linear case of a rapidly rotating quadratic saddle potential.

Stationary state in Brownian systems with Lorentz force
In systems with overdamped dynamics, the Lorentz force reduces the diffusivity of a Brownian particle in the plane perpendicular to the magnetic field. The anisotropy in diffusion implies that the Fokker-Planck equation for the probability distribution ...

Revealing photonic Lorentz force as the microscopic origin of topological photonic states
Charged particles like electrons moving in a magnetic field encounter Lorentz force, which governs the formation of electronic topological edge states in quantum Hall effect systems. Here we show that photons transporting in magneto-optical materials and
