Theories of market selection

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 806-840, July 2025.
Abstract We provide a survey of the main mechanisms of market selection used in economics. We categorize existing theories into three broad classes—evolutionary selection, reduced form selection, and rational equilibrium—based on their adopted selection mechanisms.

Advancing Ionospheric Irregularity Reconstruction With ICON/MIGHTI Wind‐Driven Insights

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 12, 28 June 2025.
Abstract In the mesosphere‐lower thermosphere region, atmospheric plasma components exhibit short‐term enhancements, forming sporadic E (Es) layers that impact communication systems. The prevailing theory posits that neutral wind shear is the primary driver of mid‐latitude Es layer.

Influence of an Al‐Doped ZnO Interface Layer on the Thermochromic Properties of VO2 Thin Films Deposited by RF Magnetron Sputtering

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 12, June 2025.
Herein the metal‐to‐insulator transition is investigated when depositing vanadium dioxide (VO2) on glass or aluminum‐doped zinc oxide (AZO). O2 flow tuning during the deposition and additional post annealing are effective to control the metal‐to‐insulator transition. However, the VO2/AZO/glass stack reveals an increase in the transition temperature and

Distinctive Doping Behavior of Conjugated Polymers With Pendant‐Side Conjugation for Enhanced Thermoelectric Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 23, June 5, 2025.
Novel conjugated polymers with side‐chain π‐conjugation are developed to enhance organic thermoelectric properties. Remarkably, the pendant doping in the conjugated polymers preserved strong intermolecular ordering in the film states even at high FeCl3 dopant concentrations (16 – 32 mM), achieving a promising power factor > 10 µW m−1 K−2 across a wide ...
