Defect‐Driven Reconstruction of Bismuth Nanoflowers via Precursor Engineering for Highly Efficient CO2‐to‐Formate Electrochemical Reduction

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
A defect‐engineered Bi nanoflower catalyst is developed for CO2 reduction to selectively produce formate. The nanoflower catalyst exhibits >95% Faradaic efficiency over a wide potential range and achieves −340 mA cm−2 at –1.08 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode in a flow cell.
