Axiomatic characterization of the Gini coefficient and Lorenz. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper is concerned with distributions of income and the ordering of related Lorenz curves. By introducing appropriate preference relations on the set of Lorenz curves, two altenative axiomatic characterization of Lorenz curve orderings are proposed.

Combined Machine Learning and Experimental Study for the Zintl Phase Thermoelectric Ba1‐ x Sr x Zn2‐ y Cd y Sb2 System

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Accepted Article.
Two new Sr and Cd co‐substituted Zintl phases of Ba0.92(2)Sr0.08Zn1.30(3)Cd0.70Sb2 and Ba0.60(2)Sr0.40Zn0.32(4)Cd1.68Sb2 were successfully synthesized, and these compounds crystallized in the orthorhombic BaCu2S2‐type and the trigonal CaAl2Si2‐type phases, respectively.

Genetic and phenotypic variation in wood tiger moths from the Caucasus: insights into male warning color variation

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Coloration serves several fitness‐related functions, including thermoregulation, immunity, social signaling, sexual selection, and predator avoidance. Consequently, color polymorphism can have a significant impact on a species’ interactions with its environment, including its relationships with predators, prey, and potential mates. The wood tiger moth (
