Deep Learning with Attention Mechanisms for Road Weather Detection
There is great interest in automatically detecting road weather and understanding its impacts on the overall safety of the transport network. This can, for example, support road condition-based maintenance or even serve as detection systems that assist ...

ABSTRACT Claudin‐6 has emerged as a promising immunotherapeutic target, yet protein‐level data in atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (AT/RTs) have been inconsistent. We analyzed 36 well‐characterized AT/RT samples and found membranous claudin‐6 protein expression in 58% of cases, with striking enrichment in the molecular subgroup AT/RT‐TYR (100%) and ...

ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

A Hybrid Minkowski-Log-Cosh Loss Function for Robust LSTM-Based Time Series Forecasting
Reliable time-series forecasting remains challenging due to noise and data irregularities that degrade model performance. Although Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks effectively capture temporal dependencies, their accuracy depends critically on the ...

ABSTRACT Background Pediatric sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of tumors that contribute disproportionately to cancer mortality in children. Although congenital anomalies are among the strongest known risk factors for childhood cancer, the risk of specific sarcoma subtypes among affected individuals has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Procedure We

LUNA: Loss-Construct Unsupervised Network Adjustment for Low-Dose CT Image Reconstruction
Reconstructing low-dose CT imaging deals with handling the inherent noise within the data, which makes it a complex mathematical problem known as an ill-posed inverse problem.

UMAP has supplanted t-SNE as state-of-the-art for visualizing high-dimensional datasets in many disciplines, but the reason for its success is not well understood. In this work, we investigate UMAP's sampling based optimization scheme in detail. We derive UMAP's effective loss function in closed form and find that it differs from the published one.
