Temperature of JPDR Fuel at Loss-of-Coolant Accident

open access: yesJournal of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan / Atomic Energy Society of Japan, 1964
Calculations are made of JPDR fuel temperature at loss-of-coolant accident. At the accident, the reactor is scrammed either by a low-reactor-water-level signal or by a high-enclosure-pressure signal, and the core spray system is initiated. In analyses, a fuel rod and a clad is devided into six and two annulus sections, respectively.

Impact of hydrogen on rupture behaviour of Zircaloy-4 nuclear fuel cladding during loss-of-coolant accident: a novel observation of failure at multiple locations

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2021
To establish the exclusive role of hydrogen on burst behaviour of Zircaloy-4 during loss-of-coolant accident transients, an extensive single-rod burst tests were conducted on both unirradiated as-received and hydrogenated Zircaloy-4 cladding tubes at ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

LBLOCA accident investigation using TRACE code in a VVER-1000 reactor [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علوم و فنون هسته‌ای, 2020
The loss of coolant accident is due to the reduction of the coolant fluid volume in the first circuit. The direct cause of this accident is the mechanical failure or fatigue in the material of the first circuit components during the power plant operation.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Application of FMEA and FTA techniques for assessing the occurrence of LOCA in a TRIGA MARK I Reactor

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Radiation Sciences
This study presents a framework merging failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and fault tree analysis (FTA) techniques to evaluate loss of coolant accident (LOCA) in the Brazilian Reactor TRIGA IPR-RI.

Analysis of the flow distribution and mixing characteristics in the reactor pressure vessel

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2021
The analysis of the fluid flow characteristics in reactor pressure vessel is an important part of the hydraulic design of nuclear power plant, which is related to the structure design of reactor internals, the flow distribution at core inlet and the ...

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
