Laboratory study of plugging mechanism and seal integrity in fractured formations using a new blend of lost circulation materials

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2023
The problem of lost circulation occurred long during the drilling operation. Through induced and natural fractures, huge drilling fluid losses lead to higher operating expenses during the drilling.

Characterization of therapeutic antibodies targeting lymphatic and vascular resistance factor for the treatment of hypervascularized and highly metastatic cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LVRF (lymphatic and vascular resistance factor) is a VEGFA splice variant upregulated in response to anti‐angiogenic therapy that fosters tumor adaptation through enhanced vascularization, lymphangiogenesis, and metastatic dissemination. Targeting LVRF with fully human neutralizing antibodies disrupts these processes and limits resistant tumor growth ...

A self-breaking supramolecular plugging system as lost circulation material in oilfield

open access: yesOpen Chemistry, 2020
Lost circulation is a frequently encountered problem during workover operations of a low-pressure reservoir. Many lost circulation materials (LCM) have been used to solve the problem, but various disadvantages still exist, for example, oil-soluble ...

Beta1 subunits enable fentanyl‐induced BK channel activation and opioid regulation of cerebral artery diameter

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During the current opioid crisis, the majority of overdose deaths are attributed to ultra‐potent synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl. While fentanyl exerts its action via opioid receptors, we propose that potassium channels in the brain blood vessels may also sense fentanyl.

Study on New Lost Circulation Control Technology for Deep Coalbed Methane Wells in the Eastern Margin of Ordos

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2019
In the deep coalbed methane in the Linfen block of the eastern margin of the Ordos Basin, there are unfavorable factors such as deep burial, multiple formation layers, complex lithology, poor rock cementation and poor wellbore stability.

Fluorination: A strategy to tune the interactions of molecules and nanoscale systems with biological matter

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This minireview explores fluorination as a key strategy to optimize therapeutic molecules and nanocarriers. By incorporating different fluorinated motifs—from single atoms to linear and branched chains—drug delivery, cellular uptake, and colloidal stability can be improved and fine‐tuned.

Research Progress of Early Identification and Safety Control of Well Kick and Lost Circulation Complexities

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2023
With its gradual advancement toward deep and ultra-deep layers, petroleum drilling is faced with higher temperatures and pressures, and more complex formation pressure systems, which may lead in downhole complexities such as well kick, lost circulation, and ...

Formation mechanisms of fracture plugging zone and optimization of plugging particles

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2022
As formation mechanisms of plugging zone and criteria for fracture plugging remain unclear, plugging experiments and methods testing granular material mechanical properties are used to study the formation process of the plugging zone in fractured ...

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...

Intracerebral Hemorrhage Induces Monocyte TNF Signaling in Patients That Is Suppressed by BAF312

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) causes high morbidity and mortality, with neurotoxic inflammation driven by infiltrating monocytes. This study is an in‐depth longitudinal examination of the immune response during the first week of ICH in the presence and absence of the immunomodulatory drug BAF312 (Siponimod).
