An intelligent formulation generation framework for lost circulation materials based on attribute embedding

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B
Lost circulation is a frequent and severe problem in drilling operations. To mitigate fluid loss, lost circulation material (LCM) formulations are widely used.

In vitro generation of regulatory T cells: A challenging tool for studying immune aging in humans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In vitro induction of human regulatory T cells using standard protocols generates suppressive, Foxp3‐expressing CD4+ T cells independently of TGF‐β supplementation and donor age. Regulatory T (Treg) cells play a key role in immune tolerance and homeostasis.

Fluorination: A strategy to tune the interactions of molecules and nanoscale systems with biological matter

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This minireview explores fluorination as a key strategy to optimize therapeutic molecules and nanocarriers. By incorporating different fluorinated motifs—from single atoms to linear and branched chains—drug delivery, cellular uptake, and colloidal stability can be improved and fine‐tuned.

Eco-Friendly Bridging Material: Experimental Characterization of Eggshells as an Affordable Natural Waste Non-Damaging Lost Circulation Material to Reduce Drilling Fluid Cost in Reservoir Drill-In-Fluid System

open access: yesJournal of Earth Energy Engineering, 2022
Lost circulation nowadays became one of the major problems in many drilling operations worldwide. This problem is complicated for it can significantly cause non-productive time during drilling operations.

Ethical Foreground and Background in Adult Educator Work

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adult educators work in a complex ethical environment. The very act of contributing to the learning of another is fraught with moral overtones. In this paper we consider the ethical dimensions of adult educator practice by distinguishing the ethical features of the context or ‘background’ of practice from the ethical capabilities and decision ...

Research and Application of Elastic Expanding Bridging Efficiency-Enhancing Material

open access: yesZuanjingye yu wanjingye
Current bridging lost circulation materials (LCMs) exhibit poor lost circulation control performance and limited pressure bearing capacity when used in controlling mud losses into complex fractured formations such as those with multiscale fractures and ...

Laboratory Study on a New Composite Plugging Material with High Bearing Strength and High-Temperature Resistance

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2019
The reservoir in the Central Tarim Basin is a typical high-pressure fracture-vuggy carbonate reservoir with high temperatures, which easily leads to drilling fluid losses and the high-temperature carbonate.

Sealing Mechanism Based on Force Chain and Experimental Investigation of Sealing Fractures

open access: yesLithosphere, 2021
Lost circulation often occurs in fractured formations, which was a main technological problem during drilling. Conventional lost circulation material (LCM) was often used to form a plugging zone to prevent fluid loss during drilling.

microRNA‐7‐5p and α‐Synuclein SAA Predict Parkinson's Disease Phenoconversion

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Corroborate blood neuron‐derived extracellular vesicle (NDEV) alpha‐synuclein (αSyn), the CSF αSyn seed amplification assay (αSyn‐SAA), and blood microRNA‐7‐5p (miR‐7‐5p) as markers for Parkinson's disease (PD) phenoconversion and determine if combining these markers would help select subjects who would be more likely to phenoconvert.

Lost circulation control materials. Progress report [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Work in FY 94 continued to investigate the use of calcium phosphate cements as lost circulation control materials for geothermal wells. The calcium phosphate cements were produced by reacting calcium aluminate cement with sodium phosphate compounds. Pumpable formulations with thickening times up to two hours at temperatures between 25 to 90{degrees}C ...
