On Setup Cost Reduction in the Economic Lot-Sizing Model Without Speculative Motives [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
An important special case of the economic lot-sizing problem is the one in which there are no speculative motives to hold inventory, i.e., the marginal cost of producing one unit in some period plus the cost of holding it until some future period is at ...

A collaborative ant colony metaheuristic for distributed multi-level lot-sizing

open access: yes, 2012
The paper presents an ant colony optimization metaheuristic for collaborative planning. Collaborative planning is used to coordinate individual plans of self-interested decision makers with private information in order to increase the overall benefit of ...

A heuristic approach for big bucket multi-level production planning problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Multi-level production planning problems in which multiple items compete for the same resources frequently occur in practice, yet remain daunting in their difficulty to solve. In this paper, we propose a heuristic framework that can generate high quality

Note—Performance Bounds for Lot Sizing Heuristics [PDF]

open access: yesManagement Science, 1985
This paper deals with the classical dynamic lot size problem without backlogging and capacity limitation. We derive worst case performance bounds for a class of lot sizing heuristics. When the considered methods are applied a decision whether to have a set-up or not in a certain period is taken without regarding the future demand.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

On the complexity of the economic lot-sizing problem with remanufacturing options [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we investigate the complexity of the economiclot-sizing problem with remanufacturing (ELSR) options. Whereas inthe classical economic lot-sizing problem demand can only besatisfied by production, in the ELSR problem demand can also ...

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.
