Male meiosis in Lotus corniculatus L.
Plant Systematics and Evolution, 2012In the present study, male meiosis was investigated in Lotus corniculatus from different geographical areas of the Kashmir Himalayas. The 2n = 4x = 24 in one cytotype of var. minor is reported for the first time worldwide, whereas 2n = 2x = 12 for var. corniculatus, var. japonicus and var. minor are reported for the first time in India.

Birdsfoot Trefoil (Lotus corniculatus L.)
1990The genus Lotus (Leguminosae) consists of over 200 species, including xerophytic desert and alpine perennials and salt-tolerant annuals (Larsen 1958; Urbanska 1984). The regional center of origin for Lotus is probably the Mediterranean basin, where the greatest diversity of the species occurs. This complex genus has three basic chromosome numbers, 5, 6,

Male sterility in birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus L.)
Sexual Plant Reproduction, 1989This paper describes six male steriles in birdsfoot trefoil. Data on the following characters were recorded on these plants and on two male fertile plants: chromosome number, presence of pollen at tripping, percentage of irregularly shaped anthers, percentage of anthers with acetocarmine stainable pollen inside, maximum range of percentage of pollen ...

Abstract Hairy root cultures of three species of legume, Lotus corniculatus, Trifolium repens and T. pratense were established using a wild-type strain (C58C1 with pRi 15834) of Agrobacterium rhizogenes . Southern hybridization analysis confirmed that the lines were genetically transformed.

Evaluation of the anti-inflammatory efficacy of Lotus corniculatus
Food Chemistry, 2009Abstract The anti-inflammatory effects of the crude extract (CE) of Lotus corniculatus var. Sao Gabriel and its derived hexane (HEX), ethyl acetate (AcOEt), n -butanol (BuOH) and aqueous (Aq) fractions and isolated compounds kaempferitrin, oleanolic acid and β-sitosterol, in a mouse model of pleurisy induced by carrageenan were investigated. Phytochemical Investigation Of Lotus Corniculatus Growing In Egypt
Planta Medica, 2016Extracts of aerial parts of Lotus corniculatus L. exhibited significant antioxidant, immunostimulant and anticancer activities [1]. Bioactivity-guided fractionation of the aerial parts of L. corniculatus led to the isolation of seven known compounds (1-7).

Identification of JAZ1-MYC2 Complex in Lotus corniculatus
Journal of Plant Growth Regulation, 2015Lotus corniculatus is exposed to many forms of biotic stresses, including pathogen and herbivore attack. Jasmonates (JAs) are lipid-based signaling molecules that play important roles in mediating secondary metabolite biosynthesis and plant defense responses.
