WorMa is an amphibious undulatory robot that uses Center of Mass redistribution as the sole terrain adaptation mechanism. This mechanism is based on internal fluid mass redistribution through a pump‐driven latex balloon system that creates three profiles: head‐biased, balanced, and tail‐biased.

Emergent Spinning and Orbital Motion in Clustered Wind‐Assisted Flyers
Inspired by natural snowflake geometries, paper‐cut flyers exhibit geometry‐defined spinning and orbital motions during cluster formation in a wind tunnel. Collective flights of multiple paperflakes reveal dynamic clustering, fragmentation, and continuously evolving spin behaviors.

Subversion of Atypical Mucin Traps by a Spore‐Coat Effector Blocks Cellular Immunity in Drosophila
While the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium robertsii can evade insect humoral immunity, its subversion of cellular defenses is still elusive. We identify Eac1 as a spore‐coat protein essential for infecting drosophilids by targeting atypical mucins (Sgf1 and Sgf2), which can entrap spores in a gel matrix and thereby facilitate hemocyte encapsulation.

Transposable Element–Driven PIEZO Mutation Enhances Locust Flight in Plateau Hypoxia
Why transposable elements (TEs) persisted or expanded in genomes remains a mystery. Using integrated analysis of TE macro‐ and microevolution in locusts, our results showed that thousands of TE insertions promoted widespread adaptive variation. Subfamilies of candidate adaptive TEs amplified and reshaped species‐level genomic architecture.

New Record of Lipoptena cervi and Updated Checklist of the Louse Flies (Diptera: Hippoboscidae) of the Republic of Korea [PDF]
ABSTRACT This is the first confirmed record of the genus Lipoptena Nitzsch and its species, Lipoptena cervi (Linnaeus), from the Republic of Korea. A total of five females and 10 males was collected from eight of 29 Korean water deer, Hydropotes inermis argyropus Swinhoe, from Gangwon and Gyeongsangbuk Provinces and Ulsan Metropolitan Area from May ...

Plant‐based nanomaterials derived from alfalfa serve as dual‐function catalysts, coupling photodegradation and phytoremediation to degrade polyethylene under UV‐A light and in soil. The nanomaterials work synergistically with alfalfa and soil microbes, achieving efficient plastic breakdown without trophic transfer.
