High-speed simulation of partial response channels employing low-density parity check (LDPC) codes
SPIE Proceedings, 2003We developed a high-speed simulator for partial response (PR) channels employing low density parity check (LDPC) codes. Bit error rate (BER) performances for channels employing PR(1,1) and PR(1,2,2,1) targets wtih blue laser and 0.85 numerical aperture (NA) are estimated by simulating up to 10 11 data sampled which allowed us to estimate BERs as low ...

Image Communication Using Quasi-Cyclic Low-Density Parity-Check (QC-LDPC) Code
2020Proposed quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check code (QC-LDPC) efficiently communicates image at comparable peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) with less signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Encoding of the image is done using the Gauss–Jordan elimination method while decoding is done using the min-sum iterative message-passing algorithm using the code length ...

Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) Codes
2012In this chapter, low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes, a class of powerful iteratively decodable error correcting codes, are introduced. The chapter first reviews some basic concepts and results in information theory such as Shannon’s channel capacity and channel coding theorem. It then overviews the Flash memory channel model.

Visible Light Communication (VLC) that utilizes free space optics as a transmission channel has a high-speed data communication capability, which uses Light Emitting Diode (LED) as a transmitter. Problems occurred in this wireless communication is the distance. VLC can only reach relatively short distance if compared to Radio Frequency (RF).

In this paper, a family of rate-compatible (RC) low-density parity-check (LDPC) convolutional codes can be obtained from RC-LDPC block codes by graph extension method. The resulted RC-LDPC convolutional codes, which are derived by permuting the matrices of the corresponding RC-LDPC block codes, are systematic and have maximum encoding memory ...

Design of semi-algebraic low-density parity-check (SA-LDPC) codes for multilevel coded modulation
Proceedings of the 8th International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students, Post-graduates and Young Scientists. Modern Technique and Technologies. MTT'2002 (Cat. No.02EX550), 2004Semialgebraic low-density parity-check (SA-LDPC) codes are proposed for the multilevel coded modulation system. We optimize code parameters of LDPC codes according to the rate of each level by Gaussian approximation. Iterative multistage decoding (IMSD) scheme is adopted to get the significant improvement.

Effects of 2-D interleaving and Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) Codes on Burst Errors
Optical Data Storage, 2007We highlight the importance of interleaver in holographic data storage (HDS) systems corrupted by burst errors. We use the Gilbert-Elliott channel model to generate pages with burst errors and investigate a toroidal interleaving scheme.

Modified Iterative Two-Stage Hybrid Decoding Algorithm for Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) Codes
VTC Spring 2009 - IEEE 69th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2009This paper considers a modified iterative version of the two-stage hybrid algorithm for decoding low-density parity- check (LDPC) codes. The hybrid-decision scheme is a decoding scheme used that combines two iterative decoding algorithms for decoding LDPC codes. This scheme is suitable for many applications such as audio and video transmission that are

Asymptotic Weight Analysis of Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) Code Ensembles
2008With the invention of turbo codes in 1993 came increased interest in codes and iterative decoding schemes. Gallager's Regular codes were rediscovered, and irregular codes were introduced. Protograph codes were introduced and analyzed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in the early years of this century.
