Entanglement degradation in the solid state: interplay of adiabatic and quantum noise [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We study entanglement degradation of two non-interacting qubits subject to independent baths with broadband spectra typical of solid state nanodevices.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Data-Driven Modeling of Low Frequency Noise Using Capture-Emission Energy Maps

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
A new approach for modeling low frequency noise is presented to enable the predictions of noise behavior from negative bias temperature instability (NBTI). The noise model is based on a capture-emission energy (CEE) map describing the probability density

Application of Low-Frequency Processing Method Based on VMD Algorithm in Blasting Signal Processing

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2022
In the field of blasting vibration signal analysis, accurate removal of low-frequency noise in the signal has important practical significance. In view of the shortcomings of the existing methods, such as cumbersome calculation and limited scope of ...

A Low Noise Sub-Sampling PLL in Which Divider Noise Is Eliminated and PD-CP Noise Is not multiplied by N^2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper presents a 2.2-GHz low jitter sub-sampling based PLL. It uses a phase-detector/charge-pump (PD/CP)that sub-samples the VCO output with the reference clock. In contrast to what happens in a classical PLL, the PD/CP noise is not multiplied by N2

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Low-frequency noise impact on CMOS image sensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
CMOS image sensors are nowadays extensively used in imaging applications even for high-end applications. This is really possible thanks to a reduction of noise obtained, among others, by Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) readout.

1/f noise of Josephson-junction-embedded microwave resonators at single photon energies and millikelvin temperatures

open access: yes, 2011
We present measurements of 1/f frequency noise in both linear and Josephson-junction-embedded superconducting aluminum resonators in the low power, low temperature regime - typical operating conditions for superconducting qubits.
