This systematic review identified 24 clinical trials of medical device and surgical interventions for HFpEF, with 16 demonstrating at least safety and feasibility, but little evidence of long‐term benefit. Phenotype‐based responses suggest that certain interventions may benefit specific HFpEF subgroups, yet most trials suffered from heterogeneous ...

Surrogates for myocardial power and power efficiency in patients with aortic valve disease [PDF]
We aimed to assess surrogate markers for left ventricular (LV) myocardial power and efficiency in patients with isolated aortic stenosis (AS) and combined stenosis/regurgitation (AS/AR).

Abstract In the 2021 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) heart failure (HF) guidelines, sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors were recommended for the prevention of HF in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and for the treatment of HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).

Haemodynamic Patterns of Severe Aortic Stenosis
The authors present up-to-date review of clinical pathophysiology of aortic stenosis (AS) based on differentiation of its haemodynamic patterns, and some actual issues of instrumental diagnostics and classification of AS.

The pulsatile ventricular assist platform (pVAP) was connected to a membrane pump in six large swine models. The system, driven by a conventional intra‐aortic balloon pump console (IABP), was utilized to drain left atrial blood during systole and to eject the collected blood back into the ascending aorta during diastole.

Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) has been linked to adverse remodelling and outcomes in aortic valve stenosis (AS), yet mechanisms remain unclear. In 137 patients with severe AS undergoing CMR before TAVR, higher EAT (≥46.5 ml/m2) was associated with impaired left atrial (LA) reservoir strain, while ventricular morphology, function and tissue ...

As the heart beats, it creates fluctuation in blood pressure leading to a pulse wave that propagates by displacing the arterial wall. These waves travel through the arterial tree and carry information about the medium that they propagate through as well ...

Adaptation of right ventricular function following tricuspid transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair
Right ventricular remodelling following tricuspid transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair. After T‐TEER, most patients either maintain or decrease their RVEF, while only a minority experience an increase. Patients with increased RVEF were associated with TR worsening and worse prognosis.
