Numerical Simulation of Low-Level Wind Shear Using CFD and LSTM Technology Based on the WRF Model

open access: yesGaoyuan qixiang
In an effort to elevate the precision of low-level wind shear forecasting, this paper amalgamates European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) fifth-generation reanalysis data (ERA5) and National Centers for Environmental Prediction Final ...

Alert generation and cockpit presentation for an integrated microburst alerting system [PDF]

open access: yes
Alert generation and cockpit presentation issues for low level wind shear (microburst) alerts are investigated. Alert generation issues center on the development of a hazard criterion which allows integration of both ground based and airborne wind shear ...

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Numerical and flight simulator test of the flight deterioration concept [PDF]

open access: yes
Manned flight simulator response to theoretical wind shear profiles was studied in an effort to calibrate fixed-stick and pilot-in-the-loop numerical models of jet transport aircraft on approach to landing.

Transport of cross helicity and radial evolution of alfvenicity in the solar wind [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A transport theory including cross helicity, magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) turbulence, and driving by shear and pickup ions, is applied to the radial evolution of the solar wind.

Influence of an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere on Diamond‐Single‐Grain Scratching of Ti–6Al–4V

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐grain scratching of Ti–6Al–4V is investigated under controlled, oxygen‐free, and ambient atmospheres using a novel experimental setup with in situ high‐speed imaging. The approach enables direct observation of chip formation and adhesion under suppressed oxidation.

A sensitivy study of microphysics schemes of the wrf-arw model for low-level wind shear forecast in José Martí International Airport during convective storms

open access: yesRevista Cubana de Meteorología, 2022
A sensitivity study is performed with Lin, Morrison 2-moment, WSM5, and WSM6 microphysics schemes for the numerical forecast of the low-level wind shear (LLWS) derived from storms at "José Martí" International Airport using the Weather Research and ...

Characteristics of low-level wind shear in Qinghai Xining Airport

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract Characteristics of low-level wind shear in Qinghai Xining Airport are analysed by using pilot reports and reanalysis data. It manifests seasonal and diurnal variation that the frequency is higher in spring and summer, and for diurnal variation, it is higher in afternoon and early night.

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.
