This review systematically explains the synthesis, properties, and energy storage and conversion applications of vanadium carbides. We introduce the structural and the synthetic strategies and reviewed recent developments in the material synthesis processes. The emerging applications of vanadium carbides in energy storage and conversion are highlighted.

Stellar Wind Parameters of Massive Stars in Accretion-Powered High-Mass X-Ray Binary Pulsars [PDF]
The process of mass exchange between the components of High-Mass X-ray Binary (HMXB) systems with neutron stars undergoing wind-fed accretion is discussed.

Eclipses, bursts and outflows in highly inclined X-ray binaries [PDF]
Accretion, the capture of nearby material by the strong gravitational pull of an object, is ubiquitous throughout the universe and is often observed around newly forming stars, planets or compact objects like neutron stars (NSs) and black holes (BHs).

A Comprehensive Study of Type I (Thermonuclear) Bursts in the New Transient SRGA J144459.2–604207
We report an analysis of Insight-HXMT observations of the newly discovered accreting millisecond pulsar SRGA J144459.2–604207. During the outburst, detected in 2024 February by SRG/ART-XC, the broadband persistent spectrum was well fitted by an absorbed ...

Self‐Assembled Calcite Architectures for Programmable Information Storage
Programmable biomineralization enables the formation of 3D calcite architectures that encode information through spatially defined refractive‐index modulations. Data are written via laser‐directed mineralization, stored in stable voxelized mineral structures, and retrieved non‐destructively through optical diffraction, offering a pathway toward ultra ...
