ABSTRACT Background Numerous international studies have reported declines in new cancer diagnoses, delayed diagnoses and disruptions in cancer treatment following the implementation of COVID‐19 pandemic public health measures, raising concerns that these effects may ultimately contribute to increased cancer mortality.

Referral Patterns and Diagnostic Timeliness in Pediatric Cancer: A Hospital‐Based Study in Indonesia
ABSTRACT Background Timely diagnosis and treatment are critical for improving survival among children with cancer. In low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs), delays are common and may be influenced by fragmented referral pathways and diagnostic limitations.

Data Dissemination Framework Using Low-Rank Approximation in Edge Networks
This paper proposes a reliable data dissemination framework for edge networks, leveraging network coding combined with low-rank approximation. We consider an edge network that consists of a server and power-limited mobile devices, where the data is ...

Simplicial approximation and low-rank trees
Let \(\Lambda\) be a subgroup of \(\mathbb{R}\). An action without inversion of a finitely generated group \(\Gamma\) on a \(\Lambda\)-tree \(T\) defines a (translation) length function \(\ell\) on \(\Gamma\) taking non-negative values in \(\Lambda\).

ABSTRACT Background Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a recognized trigger of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP); however, its incidence and impact on disease course in children remain controversial. Therefore, we aimed to characterize the clinical course of pediatric patients with CMV‐associated ITP.

Low Rank Approximation in the Presence of Outliers
We consider the problem of principal component analysis (PCA) in the presence of outliers. Given a matrix $A$ ($d \times n$) and parameters $k, m$, the goal is to remove a set of at most $m$ columns of $A$ (known as outliers), so as to minimize the rank-$k$ approximation error of the remaining matrix.

ABSTRACT Background Reduced bone mineral density (BMD) has been reported in survivors of childhood and young adult acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL); however, data from cohorts treated with contemporary protocols and including matched controls remain limited.

Face Identification With Top-Push Constrained Generalized Low-Rank Approximation of Matrices
We present a novel top-push constrained feature learning (TFL) method for face identification. The idea is to learn low-rank approximations from raw intensity face images such that the squared distance between all faces of the same identity should be ...
