ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

A Theoretical Study on the Rank of the Integral Operators for Large-‐Scale Electrodynamic Analysis [PDF]
We theoretically prove that the minimal rank of the interaction between two separated geometry blocks in an integral-equation based analysis of general three-dimensional objects, for a prescribed error bound, scales linearly with the electric size of the

ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Low-Rank Methods for Radiation Transport Calculations
This dissertation seeks to reduce the computational cost in radiation transport calculations using dynamical low-rank approximation (DLR) methods, a complexity reduction technique to approximate a tensor or a matrix with a reduced rank.

On the Low-Rank Approximation Arising in the Generalized Karhunen-Loeve Transform
We consider the low-rank approximation problem arising in the generalized Karhunen-Loeve transform. A sufficient condition for the existence of a solution is derived, and the analytical expression of the solution is given.

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Regularized Weighted Low Rank Approximation
The classical low rank approximation problem is to find a rank $k$ matrix $UV$ (where $U$ has $k$ columns and $V$ has $k$ rows) that minimizes the Frobenius norm of $A - UV$. Although this problem can be solved efficiently, we study an NP-hard variant of this problem that involves weights and regularization. A previous paper of [Razenshteyn et al. '16]

ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

Low-rank matrix approximation with weights or missing data is NP-hard [PDF]
Weighted low-rank approximation (WLRA), a dimensionality reduction technique for data analysis, has been successfully used in several applications, such as in collaborative filtering to design recommender systems or in computer vision to recover ...

Structured low-rank approximation with missing data
The approach of SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl., 26(4):1083--1099 for solving structured total least squares problems is generalized to weighted structured low-rank approximation with missing data. The method proposed is based on elimination of the correction
