ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

Randomized low-rank approximation and its applications [PDF]
In this thesis we will present and analyze randomized algorithms for numerical linear algebra problems. An important theme in this thesis is randomized low-rank approximation.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Algorithms and literate programs for weighted low-rank approximation with missing data
Linear models identification from data with missing values is posed as a weighted low-rank approximation problem with weights related to the missing values equal to zero.

Left vs right representations for solving weighted low-rank approximation problems [PDF]
The weighted low-rank approximation problem in general has no analytical solution in terms of the singular value decomposition and is solved numerically using optimization methods.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

A Comprehensive Theoretical Study on the Rank of the Integral Operators for Large-Scale Electrodynamic Analysis [PDF]
We propose an analytical approach to study the rank of an integral operator, which is valid for an arbitrarily shaped object with an arbitrary electric size.

Dynamical low-rank training of neural networks [PDF]
openNeural networks have achieved tremendous success in a large variety of applications. However, their space and time computational demand can limit their usage in resource limited devices. At the same time, overparametrization seems to be necessary in

Approximation Schemes for Low-rank Binary Matrix Approximation Problems
We provide a randomized linear time approximation scheme for a generic problem about clustering of binary vectors subject to additional constraints. The new constrained clustering problem generalizes a number of problems and by solving it, we obtain the ...
