Seismic safety assessment of unreinforced masonry low-rise buildings in Pakistan and its neighbourhood [PDF]
Pakistan and neighbourhood experience numerous earthquakes, most of which result in damaged or collapsed buildings and loss of life that also affect the economy adversely.

Seismic response of low-rise buildings
The results of an investigation into the dynamic response of several low-rise structures are reported. The main parameters studied were the effect of variations in the form of the hysteresis loop exhibited by the inelastic members and of differing types of earthquake accelerograms.

Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Effects of Soft storey Irregularity on RC building Response [PDF]
Albanian building stock is composed of reinforced concrete and masonry buildings. Most of these buildings are designed with Old Albanian Codes (KTP Codes) and some of them are constructed without any project.

AFRP retrofit of reinforced concrete columns against impact loading [PDF]
Structures can be exposed to impact loads as a result of an explosion, falling objects, projectiles and vehicle collisions. Within the increasing threat of these impact sources, it is very important to protect the columns that are the vital members of ...

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Property price gradients: The vertical dimension [PDF]
This is an empirical study on the pricing of two vertical property attributes: floor level and building height. Floor level is the vertical location of a unit in a multi-storey building; the extra price paid for a higher floor level is labelled a floor ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Seismic performance evaluation of high-rise steel buildings dependent on wind exposures
The lateral load-resisting system of high-rise buildings in regions of low and moderate seismicity and strong wind such as the typhoon in the Korean peninsula considers the wind load as the governed lateral force so that the practical structural engineer
