Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

EFFECTS OF ENERGY DEVELOPMENT IN THE UPPER COLORADO BASIN ON IRRIGATED AGRICULTURE AND SALINITY

open access: yes
A mathematical programming model is formulated to determine the salinity impacts of energy development in the Upper Colorado River Basin. Using this model, the costs and benefits to Upper and Lower Basins in complying with the 1974 EPA regulations on ...

Response of four greenhouse pepper hybrids to NaCl salinity

open access: yes, 2011
The decline in availability of fresh water in the region of Ierapetra, Crete, Greece has resulted in the increased use of saline water for irrigation of greenhouse crops. The aim of this work is to study the responses of four greenhouse pepper hybrids,

Shifts in Microbial Community Structure and Co-occurrence Network along a Wide Soil Salinity Gradient

open access: yesMicroorganisms
The response of microbiomes to salinity has been clarified in different geographic scales or ecosystems. However, how soil microbial community structure and interaction respond to salinity across wide salinity range and climatic region is still unclearly

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Variations in the parasite fauna of the three-spined stickleback related to salinity and other parameters

open access: yes, 1972
PhDAlthough the three-spined stickleback Gasterosteus aculeatus L, is a common euryhaline fish, the salinity tolerances of its parasites have not been studied. The present survey was undertaken to remedy this.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Derivation of supply curves for catchment water effluents meeting specific salinity concentration targets in 2050: linking farm and catchment level models or “Footprints on future salt / water planes”

open access: yes
The salt burden in a stream reflects the blend of salty and fresh flows from different soil areas in its catchment. Depending not only on long-run rainfall, water yields from a soil are also determined by land cover: lowest if the area is forested and ...
