Low-temperature fracture toughness of a heat-treated mild steel
Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, 1995Specimens from a 0.14 % C mild steel were austenitized at 1000 °C for 1 h and thereafter furnace-cooled or isothermally transformed at 700 °C for 0.5,2, and 8 h. The microconstituents present in the as-received material were ferrite and pearlite and their amounts did not substantially change even after heat treatment.

Effect of residual aluminum on impact toughness of steel at low temperatures
Metal Science and Heat Treatment of Metals, 19591. The transitional embrittlement of low carbon steel depends on the contents of aluminum and the ferritic grain size. 2. The higher the rate of cooling of steel from the austenite range, the finer the grain and the lower the tough-to-brittle transition temperature.

Combined effects of aging and low temperature, long time heating on pork toughness
Meat Science, 2019The combined effects of aging and low temperature, long time heating (LTLT) on meat toughness were investigated. Pork loins were heated at 53 or 58 °C for up to 20 h, and shear force values, cooking loss, moisture content, collagen solubility, electrophoresis of myofibrillar proteins were determined.

Toughness Tests of Tool Stees for Work at Low Temperature
2018On scrapyard, outside of building, scrap shear with parallel knifes were used to cut large pieces of scrap metal on requested size to fill electric arc furnace. Because of several blades damages and failures, Fig 1, two different steels for blades have been analyzed to increase service life of blades and knifes at low temperature conditions.

Effect of microstructure on the low temperature toughness of high strength pipeline steels
International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy, and Materials, 2015Microstructure observations and drop-weight tear test were performed to study the microstructures and mechanical properties of two kinds of industrial X70 and two kinds of industrial X80 grade pipeline steels. The effective grain size and the fraction of high angle grain boundaries in the pipeline steels were investigated by electron backscatter ...

The Analysis of Low Temperature Toughness on X80 Pipeline Steel Welded Joint
Transactions of the Indian Institute of Metals, 2018Aiming at the security problems of pipeline steel application, the different positions of the welded joints of circumferentially welding pipeline of X80 steel were investigated by microstructure observation, the hardness, Charpy impact toughness and crack tip opening displacement (CTOD) test at low temperature.
