Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

Centrifuge impact cratering experiments: Scaling laws for non-porous targets [PDF]
A geotechnical centrifuge was used to investigate large body impacts onto planetary surfaces. At elevated gravity, it is possible to match various dimensionless similarity parameters which were shown to govern large scale impacts.

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

Impact analysis of low velocity to composite box containting water [PDF]
A series of experimental studies were conducted for low velocity impact on a composite box containing water in order to study the Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI). Finally, a computational study was conducted to supplement the experimental study.

Objective Reports have linked both high and low serum uric acid (SUA) levels to adverse health outcomes. This study aimed to establish a reference interval for SUA in older adults and assessed its association with clinically relevant outcomes in relatively healthy, community‐dwelling individuals aged ≥70 years old.

Trajectory-capture cell instrumentation for measurement of dust particle mass, velocity and trajectory, and particle capture [PDF]
The development of the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) dust detector for space missions--such as the Halley Comet Missions where the impact velocity was very high as well as for missions where the impact velocity is low was extended to include: (1) the ...

Objective We assessed whether circulating adipokines are associated with incident fractures in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods Three adipokines (adiponectin, leptin, and fibroblast growth factor [FGF]‐21) were measured using banked enrollment serum from participants in a longitudinal RA cohort.

Objective We aimed to test the efficacy of personalized treatment of older veterans with chronic low back pain (CLBP) delivered by Aging Back Clinics (ABCs) as compared with usual care (UC). Methods Two hundred ninety‐nine veterans aged 65 to 89 with CLBP from three Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers underwent baseline testing, randomization to ABC ...
