Non-Isolated Fourth-Order Boost DC-DC Converter for Power Management in Low Voltage Low Power DC Grids: Design and Interaction Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, a minimum-phase response fourth-order boost dc-dc converter (FBDC) exhibiting continuous input and output current is proposed. A voltage-mode controller is adopted to this converter to perform bus voltage regulation in a low voltage low ...

Low-noise high-voltage DC power supply for nanopositioning applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Nanopositioning techniques currently applied to characterize physical properties of materials interesting for applications at the microscopic scale rely on high-voltage electronic control circuits that should have the lowest possible noise level. Here we

Power loss investigation in HVDC for cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverters (CHB-MLI) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In the last decade, the use of voltage-source multilevel inverters in industrial and utility power applications has been increased significantly mainly due to the many advantages of multilevel inverters, compared to conventional two level inverters ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

DTMOS-Based 0.4V Ultra Low-Voltage Low-Power VDTA Design and Its Application to EEG Data Processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, an ultra low-voltage, ultra low-power voltage differencing transconductance amplifier (VDTA) is proposed. DTMOS (Dynamic Threshold Voltage MOS) transistors are employed in the design to effectively use the ultra low supply voltage.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Programmable Low-Power Low-Noise Capacitance to Voltage Converter for MEMS Accelerometers

open access: yesSensors, 2016
In this work, we present a capacitance-to-voltage converter (CVC) for capacitive accelerometers based on microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Based on a fully-differential transimpedance amplifier (TIA), it features a 34-dB transimpedance gain control ...
