[Low anterior resection syndrome].

Rozhledy v chirurgii : mesicnik Ceskoslovenske chirurgicke spolecnosti, 2015
The most important quality parameters of rectal cancer surgery are oncological radicality, postoperative complications, recurrence rate and survival. Rectal dysfunction following low anterior resection occurs in up to 25-50% of patients. Despite its high frequency, however, it does not receive enough attention. Rectal dysfunction after surgery includes

Low Anterior Rectal Resection

2014
The surgical treatment remains the cornerstone in rectal cancer. Although many progresses have been made in the surgical treatment of rectal cancer in the recent years, starting with the developing of the total mesorectal excision by Heald, there are still some points of debate: how and when can we approximate the 2 cm limit from the lower border of ...

Uterine Anastomosis with Low Anterior Resection

Annals of Surgical Oncology
In this surgical teaching video, we demonstrate the technique of robot-assisted uterine anastomosis combined with low anterior resection in a 27-year-old patient with T2 node-positive rectal cancer. The patient had undergone uterine transposition for fertility preservation prior to upfront chemotherapy and radiation therapy for rectal cancer.

Abdominoperineal Resection, Low Anterior Resection, and Beyond

Challenges with robotic low anterior resection.

Minerva chirurgica, 2015
Dramatic improvements in the local recurrence rate of patients with rectal cancer have been observed after the introduction of the embriologically-based concept of total mesorectal excision by Heald more than 30 years ago. During the last decades, advances in multimodal treatment have further contributed to improve outcomes, but surgery still play a ...
