From Materials to Medical Images: Translating Perovskite‐Based X‐Ray Detectors Toward Clinical Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review examines perovskite‐based X‐ray detectors from a materials‐to‐medical‐images perspective. Recent progress in perovskite‐based X‐ray detectors is discussed with emphasis on their relevance to clinical imaging. The key barriers to clinical implementation are analyzed.

An Implantable Phototriggered Prodrug Depot Patch Enables Actively Programmable Drug Release for Post‐Myocardial Infarction Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An implantable phototriggered prodrug depot patch (iPDP) is presented that enables actively programmable drug release post‐implantation. Covalently conjugated prodrug ensures minimal leakage; illumination parameters serve as a code to precisely control dose per release.

Dual‐Mode Nanoporous SiO2 Memristors with Coexisting Volatile and Nonvolatile Dynamics for Reservoir Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanoporous SiO2 memristor enabling reconfigurable volatile and non‐volatile switching within a single device is demonstrated. The dual‐mode functionality supports both physical reservoir dynamics and synaptic weight storage, allowing unified hardware implementation of reservoir computing for temporal information processing, including image and ...

Levosimendan for Low Cardiac Output: A Pediatric Experience

Journal of Intensive Care Medicine, 2006
This was a retrospective observational study in a pediatric intensive care unit, in which 19 patients received levosimendan. There were no adverse events attributable to levosimendan and no instances where the clinical condition worsened after administration.

Low Cardiac Output Syndrome: Identification and Management

Critical Care Nursing Clinics of North America, 2005
Low cardiac output syndrome (LCOS) is a clinical condition that is caused by a transient decrease in systemic perfusion secondary to myocardial dysfunction. The outcome is an imbalance between oxygen delivery and oxygen consumption at the cellular level which leads to metabolic acidosis. Although LCOS is observed most commonly in patients after cardiac

Treatment of perioperative low cardiac output syndrome

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1995
New approaches to the treatment of perioperative low cardiac output are considered. In particular, use of the phosphodiesterase III inhibitors and their cardiovascular actions are reviewed and contrasted with those of conventional inotropic agents.

Hyperpyrexia Complicating Low Fixed Cardiac Output

Chest, 1977
A 41-year-old woman with end-stage mitral and aortic stenosis developed the cycle of low cardiac output, peripheral vasoconstriction, increased core temperature, and cardiac decompensation. This was interrupted by core cooling utilizing iced gastric lavage. We propose that her severe hyperthermia was caused or abetted by her low cardiac output.
