A Gd,Y rare-earth containing magnesium alloy (content in weight %, 10 Gd, 3 Y, 0.4 Zr and Mg as balance) is PEO processed for three different metallurgical states: (i) as-extruded, (ii) T4 solution (2 h at 500 °C) and (iii) T6 peak-aged precipitation (2 ...

Star Formation as Seen by Low Mass Stars
Using the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) we have characterised and compared the physical properties of a large sample of pre-main sequence (PMS) stars spanning a wide range of masses (0:5 - 4Mʘ), metallicities (0:1 - 1 Zʘ) and ages (0:5 - 30 Myr).

Improving PARSEC models for very low mass stars [PDF]
Many stellar models present difficulties in reproducing basic observational relations of very low mass stars (VLMS), including the mass--radius relation and the optical colour--magnitudes of cool dwarfs. Here, we improve PARSEC models on these points. We

We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...

Resolving the low mass puzzle of $$\Lambda _c(2940)^+$$ Λc(2940)+
For the long standing low mass puzzle of $$\Lambda _c(2940)^+$$ Λc(2940)+ , we propose an unquenched picture. Our calculation explicitly shows that the mass of the $$\Lambda _c(2P,3/2^-)$$ Λc(2P,3/2-) state can be lowered down to be consistent with the ...

Investigating the Lower Mass Gap with Low-mass X-Ray Binary Population Synthesis
Mass measurements from low-mass black hole X-ray binaries (LMXBs) and radio pulsars have been used to identify a gap between the most massive neutron stars (NSs) and the least massive black holes (BHs).

The authors analyzed the spatial distributions of gene and metabolite profiles in cervical cancer through spatial transcriptomic and spatially resolved metabolomic techniques. Pivotal genes and metabolites within these cases were then identified and validated.

The abundance of brown dwarfs [PDF]
The amount of mass contained in low-mass objects is investigated anew. Instead of using a mass-luminosity relation to convert a luminosity function to a mass function, I predict the mass-luminosity relation from assumed mass functions and the luminosity functions of Jahreiss & Wielen (1997) and Gould et al (1997).

A physically motivated framework to compare pair fractions of isolated low and high mass galaxies across cosmic time [PDF]
Low mass galaxy pair fractions are understudied, and it is unclear whether low mass pair fractions evolve in the same way as more massive systems over cosmic time. In the era of JWST, Roman, and Rubin, selecting galaxy pairs in a self-consistent way will be critical to connect observed pair fractions to cosmological merger rates across all mass scales ...
