Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) is an immunosuppressive drug widely used by solid organ transplant recipients. Although it is known that MMF suppresses immune responses, its exact effects on specific vaccinations have not been investigated yet. Mucosal vaccinations are increasingly used, such as a cholera vaccination consisting of two oral immunizations ...

Abstract Background The zebrafish heart regenerates upon injury. During injury response, fibroblasts and endothelial cells accumulate at the site of damage, and cardiomyocyte cell cycle reentry allows cardiac muscle regrowth. It is relevant to understand how the different cell types communicate with each other to coordinate regeneration.

Abstract Large clinical data underscore that heart failure is independently associated to an increased risk of negative cognitive outcome and dementia. Emerging evidence suggests that cerebral hypoperfusion, stemming from reduced cardiac output and vascular pathology, may contribute to the largely overlapping vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease ...

Dynamics of Heparin Translocations Through Solid‐State Nanopores
Carbohydrates can be detected with solid‐state nanopores, but their kinetics of voltage‐driven passage are fast. To better understand the dynamics of passage of these biomolecules and the role of electrophoresis and electroosmosis, we studied the translocation characteristics of heparin as a function of salt concentration, pH and voltage polarity ...

Proteomic signatures of equine dental tooth tissues in ageing and disease
Abstract Background Ageing and dental disease in horses lead to structural and functional deterioration of dental tissues, yet their molecular signatures remain poorly characterised. Understanding how these processes alter the protein composition of enamel, dentin, cementum and pulp is essential for improving equine oral health and identifying ...

Gout in pregnancy: Obstetric and neonatal outcomes
Abstract Objective The pregnancy, delivery, and neonatal outcomes of pregnancies complicated by gout have yet to be evaluated in a population‐based study. We sought to evaluate the obstetric and neonatal outcomes in pregnant patients with gout using a national population database.
