Low Profile Gastrostomy Devices

Gastroenterology Nursing, 1995
Many styles of gastrostomy tubes have been developed and used over the years by patients requiring long-term enteral feedings. As an alternative to the use of the traditional gastrostomy tube, the low profile gastrostomy device (LPGD) was introduced in the mid-1980s.

Low-profile transducer

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2009
One embodiment of a low-profile transducer includes a at least one fin perpendicularly mounted on a planar diaphragm, with a voice coil mounted onto the fin. The voice coil may reside in a strong uniform magnetic field. The locations at which the diaphragm is connected to a frame may be coplanar with a center of mass of the diaphragm.

Interpreting low template DNA profiles

Forensic Science International: Genetics, 2009
We discuss the interpretation of DNA profiles obtained from low template DNA samples. The most important challenge to interpretation in this setting arises when either or both of "drop-out" and "drop-in" create discordances between the crime scene DNA profile and the DNA profile expected under the prosecution allegation.

Thromboembolism with low profile bioprosthesis

European Heart Journal, 1984
Low profile bioprosthesis late follow-up indicates a low incidence of thromboembolism. For the entire series of 415 consecutively operated patients (rigid and flexible stents) the actuarial probability of freedom at 6 years is 90.3% (87.8% for MVR and 92.27% for AVR and 95.24% for MVR + AVR).

Low-profile lenses for ultrasound surgery

Physics in Medicine and Biology, 1999
Several flat lens designs have been simulated that focus a planar transducer at various depths and angular deflections. The use of flat lenses with planar phased arrays to create multiple focus patterns has also been explored. The simulations have shown that the discrete element size is practical to machine.

Light Footprint, Low Profile, Low Information

2021
Abstract This chapter examines the following questions: How do operations conducted “below the threshold” of major war affect U S civil-military relations? Conversely, how does the state of civil-military relations inform the public’s perceptions of these kinds of military engagements?

A Low Energy Profile

Proceedings of the Eighth ACM Conference on Data and Application Security and Privacy, 2018
Bluetooth Low Energy is a ubiquitous technology, with applications in the fitness, healthcare and smart home sectors, to name but a few. In this paper, we present an open-source Profiler for classifying the protection level of data residing on a BLE device.
