NIHAO XXI: the emergence of low surface brightness galaxies [PDF]
The existence of galaxies with a surface brightness $μ$ lower than the night sky has been known since three decades. Yet, their formation mechanism and emergence within a $\rmΛCDM$ universe has remained largely undetermined. For the first time, we investigated the origin of Low Surface Brightness (LSB) galaxies with M$_{\star}$$\sim$10$^{9.5-10}$M$_ ...

Oxygen Abundances in Low Surface Brightness Disk Galaxies [PDF]
The oxygen abundances in the H II regions of a sample of low surface brightness (LSB) disk galaxies are presented. In general, LSB galaxies are found to be metal poor (Z \u3c 1/3Z⊙).

Producing MSCs on rigid culture substrates induces a scar‐making phenotype, jeapordizing therapeutic success. ‘Tissue‐soft’ surfaces prevent MSC fibrogenesis and preserve regenerative traits. An epigenetic network, driven by HOXA11 and SALL1, maintains ‘soft memory’ by keeping chromatin open in relaxed MSCs, promoting anti‐fibrotic programs.

ABSTRACT The multifunctional integration of chips with high flexibility and scalable manufacturing is crucial for enhancing chip performance, reducing chip size, and simplifying chip design. However, balancing volume, cost, flexibility, and functionality using traditional heterogeneous integration methods is challenging.

Massive low surface brightness galaxies [PDF]
A multi-wavelength study of an extreme type of galaxy which will assist us in our attempts to understand the formation and evolution of galaxies was completed. In particular, a subset of low surface brightness (bar-mu(sub B) is approximately greater than

A Review of Failure Modes and Safety Strategies of Lithium‐Ion Batteries from Materials to Systems
A cascade‐aware framework is presented for lithium‐ion battery safety, linking thermal runaway initiation, acceleration, runaway reaction, and propagation with material‐, cell/pack‐, and system‐level interventions. By integrating failure mechanisms, quantitative safety indicators, and staged interception strategies, this review highlights how safer ...

How Invisible Stellar Halos Bias Our Understanding of Ultrafaint Galaxies
We explore how a realistic surface brightness (SB) detection limit of μ _V ≈ 32.5 mag arcsec ^−2 for stars at the edges of ultrafaint galaxies affects our ability to infer their underlying properties.
