A novel low THD 4-quadrant analog multiplier using feedforward compensation for PFC

2011 9th IEEE International Conference on ASIC, 2011
A novel 4-quadrant analog multiplier for PFC converters is presented based on CSMC 0.5µm BCD process. Gilbert cell is utilized to increase the dynamic input voltage range. The feedforward control technology is introduced to add 1/V2 to the multiplier output signal, where V in proportional to the input line voltage of PFC.

A Five-Switch Active NPC With Low Output Voltage THD For Photovoltaic Applications

2019 10th International Power Electronics, Drive Systems and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC), 2019
Multilevel Inverters (MIs) have great applications These days as one of best answer for medium and high power usages. The Five-Level Active-Neutral-Point-Clamped Inverter (FANPCI) merges the specifications of the typical flying-capacitor type and Neutral-Point-Clamped type inverter and was commercially used for industrial applications. In this paper, a

Fast-transient, low-THD geometric control of boost-derived active rectifiers

2016 IEEE 7th International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG), 2016
The control design of boost-derived active rectifiers searches to achieve fast dynamic performance on the DC bus voltage and low total harmonic distortion at the input current. Due to the nature of the topology, attempts to increase the bandwidth of the voltage loop can cause distortion in the input current.

PFC preregulator controller with fast dynamic response and low input current THD

2010 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (SIBIRCON), 2010
In many power factor correcting applications, the preregulator controller design procedure is a trade-off problem between having a low input current distortion or output voltage fast response. This paper presents a very simple digital control strategy to overcome the mentioned problem. In this new controller the gain of the output voltage feedback loop

Low THD multipliers for BCM buck and cascaded buck-boost PFC converters

2017 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2017
Boundary conduction mode control is a convenient and low cost method for realizing power factor correction in boost and flyback converters. A signal proportional to the input sinusoid is used as a reference for shaping an inductor current. For a boost converter, this renders the input current to be sinusoidal, but it causes distortion in Flyback and ...

AC direct multiple-string LED driver with low THD and minimum components

2015 International SoC Design Conference (ISOCC), 2015
A multiple-string LED driver with low total harmonic distortion (THD) by sinusoid-like reference and minimum components is presented in this paper. The proposed commutating method is able to control the source-coupled-pair by simplest circuitry and without passive components. The reference voltage is divided from rectifier in order to minimize the THD.

The design and analysis of a 5-level cascaded voltage source inverter with low THD

2009 International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives, 2009
Multilevel inverters have been important devices developed in recent years, owing to their capability to increase the voltage and power delivered to the load. Researches done based on basic inverter topologies show that, multilevel inverters have many advantages such as low power dissipation on power switches, low harmonic and low electromagnetic ...

A novel low-power low-voltage Class D amplifier with feedback for improving THD, power efficiency and gain linearity

ISCAS 2001. The 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01CH37196), 2002
Class D amplifiers (amps) are conventionally designed as feedforward circuits primarily due to the difficulty of feeding back the digital pulse width modulated output. We analytically investigate the design of Class D amps with feedback and propose a feedback circuit design.
