Thrust stand for low-thrust liquid pulsed rocket engines
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2010A thrust stand is developed for measuring the pulsed thrust generated by low-thrust liquid pulsed rocket engines. It mainly consists of a thrust dynamometer, a base frame, a connecting frame, and a data acquisition and processing system. The thrust dynamometer assembled with shear mode piezoelectric quartz sensors is developed as the core component of ...

Shaping low-thrust trajectories with thrust-handling feature
Advances in Space Research, 2018Abstract Shape-based methods are becoming popular in low-thrust trajectory optimization due to their fast computation speeds. In existing shape-based methods constraints are treated at the acceleration level but not at the thrust level. These two constraint types are not equivalent since spacecraft mass decreases over time as fuel is expended.

Constrained low-thrust guidance
11th Aerospace Sciences Meeting, 1973Constrained low thrust guidance algorithms for three axis and spin-stabilized, constant power, solar electric propelled spacecraft on fixed time rendezvous missions are developed. A 'bang-bang' type of minimum-propellant thrust program is used. Control constraints arise from the specification that the thrust vector must remain fixed relative to the ...

Optimal low-thrust rendezvous control.
AIAA Journal, 1969A study is made of the coplanar rendezvous maneuver between a thrusting vehicle and a passive vehicle in an elliptic orbit. In the terminal phase of rendezvous, where the equations of relative motion can be linearized, an analytic solution for the fuel optimal thrust program is found for power-limited vehicles when the time to maneuver is fixed.
