DEVONIAN-CARBONIFEROUS MAGMATISM AND METALLOGENY IN THE SOUTH URAL ACCRETIONARY-COLLISIONAL SYSTEM

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2021
The oceanic stage in the history of the South Urals completed in the Ordovician – Early Silurian. The Ordovician through Devonian events in the region included the formation of an island arc in the East Ural zone from the Middle Ordovician to Silurian ...

Resolving Micrometre‐Scale Zircon Growth in Silicic Systems by 7 μm LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS U‐Pb Dating: Linking Petrology and Geochronology in Silicic Volcanic and Granitic Rocks from Victoria, Australia

open access: yesGeostandards and Geoanalytical Research, EarlyView.
Key Points 7 μm spot‐diameter LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS analyses yield accurate zircon U‐Pb ages. 1013 Ω amplifier resistors improve low‐signal Pb measurements. Saturn correction protocols minimise down‐hole fractionation effects. We present a systematic evaluation of high spatial‐resolution zircon U‐Pb dating using a Thermo Scientific Neoma multi‐collector ICP‐MS ...

Middle Devonian lycopsids from high southern palaeolatitudes of Gondwana (Argentina) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Fossil plants are described from the upper part of the Devonian Lolén Formation, Sierra de la Ventana, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, in the area of Estancia Las Acacias. The sequence is composed mainly of dark grey shales, and fossils were found in a

The cranial endocast of the Upper Devonian dipnoan ‘Chirodipterus’ australis [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2018
One of the first endocasts of a dipnoan (lungfish) to be realised was that of the Upper Devonian taxon Chirodipterus australis. This early interpretation was based on observations of the shape of the cranial cavity alone and was not based on a natural ...

Bimekizumab efficacy using IHS4 outcomes in hidradenitis suppurativa: Results from BE HEARD I and II

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
The majority of bimekizumab‐treated patients shifted from severe to mild and moderate IHS4 stages, and nearly 25% achieved an IHS4 of 0 by Week 48. Bimekizumab led to clinically meaningful improvements across IHS4 outcome measures. These data highlight an opportunity to address the need for effective treatments against draining tunnels.

Stratigraphic significance of Devonian brachiopods of the Urals

open access: yesЛитосфера, 2017
The article considers the history of the formation of the regional stratigraphic scale of the Devonian system of the Urals, historically developed on the basis of the study of benthic fauna (mainly brachiopods).

Determining impact angle from the spatial distribution of shock metamorphism: A case study of the Gosses Bluff (Tnorala) impact structure, Australia

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract The majority of planetary impacts occur at oblique angles. Impact structures on Earth are commonly eroded or buried, rendering the identification of the direction and angle of impact—using methods such as asymmetries in ejecta distribution, surface topographic expression, central uplift structure, and geophysical anomalies—challenging. In this

Global correlation using magnetic susceptibility data from Lower Devonian rocks

open access: yes, 2001
Magnetic susceptibility data from marine rocks can be used for global correlation because of synchronous variations in global erosion. We show here correlations between magnetic susceptibility data from two Lower Devonian; biostratigraphically well ...

Geochemical features of bitumen shows in the Lower-Middle Devonian deposits of the Northern-Western part of Kotelny Island (Novosibirsk Island Archipelago)

open access: yesGeoresursy, 2019
The work presents the results of organic matter (OM) study of rocks, the composition, chemical structure of chloroform bitumen (CB), their fractions and the nature of the hydrocarbon biomarkers distribution in samples taken from outcrops.
