During the Lower Miocene investigated area was located in the central part of the North Croatian Basin, at the south-western margin of the Pannonian Basin System. Formation of sedimentary basin in the area of Slavonia started in the Ottnangian with freshwater deposits.Lacustrine conditions were dominated in all area.
