Approximation of SαS Lévy processes in Lp norm
AbstractWe determine the weak asymptotic behavior of linear and Kolmogorov widths of the SαS Lévy process in the Banach spaces Lp, p∈[1,∞) for α∈(0,2). This complements earlier work by Maiorov and Wasilkowski, who treated the case α=2, i.e., the Wiener process.

Micropillar‐Engineered Hybrid Adhesive Patch for Surface‐Conformable and Directional Adhesion
This work presents a surface‐conformable hybrid adhesive integrating height‐optimized hexagonal micropillars with open‐rectangular cuts. The micropillars enhance rough‐surface contact and microscale crack arrest, while the cuts guide and reverse interfacial cracks for strong and directional adhesion. The multiscale architecture achieves robust pull‐off

Matrix balancing is a preprocessing step in linear algebra computations such as the computation of eigenvalues of a matrix. Such computations are known to be numerically unstable if the matrix is unbalanced, that is the L2 norm of some rows and their corresponding columns are different by orders of magnitude.

The Local Rademacher Complexity of Lp-Norm Multiple Kernel Learning
We derive an upper bound on the local Rademacher complexity of $\ell_p$-norm multiple kernel learning, which yields a tighter excess risk bound than global approaches. Previous local approaches aimed at analyzed the case $p=1$ only while our analysis covers all cases $1\leq p\leq\infty$, assuming the different feature mappings corresponding to the ...

Spectral Condensing of All‐Dielectric Structural Colors via Cascaded Formation of Self‐Similar Beams
Standalone low‐index microscale ridges (MRs) are promising platforms for all‐dielectric structural color generation. They are compact and easy to fabricate, but their color purity trails behind that of resonator‐ or periodic pattern‐based structural color pixels.

The epsilon‐near‐zero (ENZ) effect in metals emerges only in nanometer‐scale films with exceptional optical quality. Titanium nitride (TiN) films grown by molecular beam epitaxy retain high crystallinity down to 2 nm and exhibit dramatically enhanced nonlinear optical responses near the ENZ region.
