Banach space projections and Petrov-Galerkin estimates [PDF]
We sharpen the classic a priori error estimate of Babuska for Petrov-Galerkin methods on a Banach space. In particular, we do so by (i) introducing a new constant, called the Banach-Mazur constant, to describe the geometry of a normed vector space; (ii ...

Strong uniqueness in Lp spaces
AbstractLet V be a finite dimensional subspace of Lp, 1 < p < ∞. For f ϵ Lp/V, it is shown that the best approximation to f from V is strongly unique of order α = 2 or p. Let V be an n-dimensional Haar subspace of L1[a, b], the continuous functions on [a, b] with the L1 norm.

Circulating histones as clinical biomarkers in critically ill conditions
Circulating histones are emerging as promising biomarkers in critical illness due to their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic potential. Detection methods such as ELISA and mass spectrometry provide reliable approaches for quantifying histone levels in plasma samples.

A Rare Case of Non-resolving Pneumonia: Lipoid Pneumonia
Lipoid pneumonia (LP) is defined as the sum of clinical and radiological abnormalities due to aspiration of oil based foreign materials. There are two kinds of LP defined in the literature.

Rosenthal's theorem for subspaces of noncommutative Lp [PDF]
We show that a reflexive subspace of the predual of a von Neumann algebra embeds into a noncommutative Lp space for some p>1. This is a noncommutative version of Rosenthal's result for commutative Lp spaces.

Rewriting the dendritic cell code in cancer—from subset identity to immunotherapeutic design
Dendritic cells (DCs) play central roles in cancer immunity but are often subverted by the tumor microenvironment. This review explores the diversity of DC subsets, their functional plasticity, and emerging therapeutic strategies to reprogram DCs for enhanced antitumor responses, including vaccines, in vivo targeting, and DC‐based immunotherapies ...

then X is an interpolation space between the spaces Lp and Lq . This means that any bounded linear operator T in Lp and Lq is also bounded in the space X . This theorem was proved by Boyd [1] in 1967 under the additional assumption that X possesses the Fatou property (see also [2] and [3, Theorem 5.16]).

Exposure to common noxious agents (1), including allergens, pollutants, and micro‐nanoplastics, can cause epithelial barrier damage (2) in our body's protective linings. This may trigger an immune response to our microbiome (3). The epithelial barrier theory explains how this process can lead to chronic noncommunicable diseases (4) affecting organs ...
