LPI Optical Communication System
MILCOM 1984 - IEEE Military Communications Conference, 1984An optical communication system based on the use of the GaAs laser diode as the light source has been developed and demonstrated. The system uses one inch transmit optics to provide a beam-width of about 18 mrad and has a receive field of view of about 35 mrad with 2 inch optics.

Practical LPI Communication with Noise-Shaped Signaling
2019 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC), 2019As Electronic Warfare (EW) relevant technologies develops, more complex and solid defense algorithm is required to keep the military secrets and message in safe. In the wireless communication system, Low Probability of Interception (LPI) communication algorithms, based on Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), had been introduced to keep the message ...

LPI and BER Performance of a Chaotic CDMA System
IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference, 2006Low probability of intercept (LPI) performance of a direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) system is investigated in this paper; both chaotic and pseudorandom binary spreading sequences are considered. Several intercept receiver structures, including energy detector, synchronous and asynchronous, coherent and noncoherent, are examined,

Feasibility of range estimation using sonar LPI
2010 44th Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems (CISS), 2010Using a detailed waveform-based simulation framework, a study on the feasibility of LPI sonar is performed for covert range estimation. A frequency selective channel filter is applied for realistic ocean simulation. The platform uses matched filtering and the target uses energy detection for processing the received signal. The objective of the platform

LPI-labile plasma iron in iron overload
Best Practice & Research Clinical Haematology, 2005Labile plasma iron (LPI) represents a component of non-transferrin-bound iron (NTBI) that is both redox-active and chelatable, capable of permeating into organs and inducing tissue iron overload. It appears in various types of hemosiderosis (transfusional and non-transfusional) and in other iron-overload conditions.

Performance bounds for LPI communications
Conference Proceedings on Tactical Communications, Vol.1., 2002Evaluation of the theoretical lower bound on signal-to-noise ratio for a spread spectrum system is provided. The bound is based on Shannon's sphere packing bound and is evaluated for a finite probability of error and coding complexity. Coding delay, which is the time from when the first information bit enters the encoder to when the first information ...

An LPI design for secure burst communication systems
2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP), 2014An LPI burst communication model based on conditional maximum entropy is presented in this paper. In this model, the conditional entropy of transmitting moments is the largest, and the prior data are used as the sample space, while Lagrange multipliers are selected as optimization variables.

Meteor burst communications LPI applications
IEEE Conference on Military Communications, 2002A technique that enhances the performance of meteor-burst communications is described. The technique, the feedback adaptive variable rate (FAVR) system, maintains a feedback channel that allows the transmitted bit rate to mimic the time behavior of the received power so that a constant bit energy is maintained. This results in a constant probability of
