Diagnostic value of the patellar tendon–lateral trochlear ridge distance and the patellar tendon–trochlear groove angle in differentiating lateral patellar instability from malalignment‐induced patellofemoral pain

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To compare the patellar tendon–lateral trochlear ridge (PT‐LTR) distance and patellar tendon–trochlear groove angle (PT‐TGA) between patients with lateral patellar instability (LPI) and those with malalignment‐induced patellofemoral pain (PFP), and to evaluate their differential diagnostic validity.

Experimental evidence of a {\phi} Josephson junction

open access: yes, 2012
We demonstrate experimentally the existence of Josephson junctions having a doubly degenerate ground state with an average Josephson phase \psi=\pm{\phi}.

Multi‐Scale Drivers of Food‐Water‐Energy Related Ecosystem Services in the Context of Land Degradation: Insights From the Beijing‐Tianjin‐Hebei Agglomeration

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Land degradation poses significant challenges to maintaining food–water–energy (FWE) security, particularly in rapidly urbanizing regions. The ecosystem services (ES) related to FWE are critical for sustainable regional development. Yet, rapid urbanization in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region has altered land use and ecological patterns ...

Double-frequency Nd:YAG laser reduction of peripheral iridotomy size for treatment of visual symptoms

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology
Peripheral iridotomy is a standard treatment for conditions like primary angle-closure glaucoma. However, the associated visual symptoms, such as glare and dysphotopsia, often reduce patient satisfaction.

The Equivalence Principle in the Non-baryonic Regime

open access: yes, 1996
We consider the empirical validity of the equivalence principle for non-baryonic matter. Working in the context of the TH\epsilon\mu formalism, we evaluate the constraints experiments place on parameters associated with violation of the equivalence ...

The relationship between the cannabinoids and cardiac remodelling: A comprehensive review of pivotal mechanisms and emerging evidence

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Cardiac remodelling and fibrosis after myocardial infarction or during chronic diseases, such as arterial and pulmonary hypertension or diabetes mellitus, continue to be the more important prognostic factors in determining survival, and so the search for effective anti‐fibrotic interventions is an important target for research and therapy in cardiology.

Biometric indicators of anterior segment parameters before and after laser peripheral iridotomy by swept-source optical coherent tomography

open access: yesBMC Ophthalmology, 2022
Background Primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG) is the most common type of glaucoma in China. Laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) is the primary choice to treat PAC: We aim to evaluate the changes of biometric parameters of anterior segment and to find ...

Quiescence of postharvest pathogens: a fungal inhibition process or an immune response of the unripe host fruit?

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Postharvest pathogens can infect fresh produce both before and after harvest, by direct or wound‐enhanced penetration, remaining quiescent until ripening. Biotrophic‐like postharvest pathogens persist beneath host cells and can remain in a state of quiescence.
