LPI performance of digital array radars

IET Conference Publications, 2009
In the modern battlefield, radar faces more and more serious threats from ECM (electronic counter measure) and ARM (anti radiation missile), etc. Only the LPI (low probability of intercept) radar can survive. DAR (digital array radar) has higher flexibility of digital processing and offers a number of attractive features than conventional phased array ...

SAR processing To localize LPI radars

2014 International Radar Conference, 2014
In this paper a new passive imaging method is introduced that is mainly suitable for Geo-locating LPI radars. The method uses two Electronic Support (ES) receivers located on a fast moving platform (e.g. an airplane or a satellite). The proposed method has a high processing gain which makes it absolutely suitable against very weak LPI signals.

Deep Learning Approach to LPI Radar Recognition

2019 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf), 2019
In this study, an advanced automatic low probability of intercept (LPI) radar recognition technique (LWRT) that includes both LPI radar signal classification and parameter extraction is proposed. It is shown with Monte Carlo simulation that, even without the unrealistic assumptions used in the previous studies, the proposed LWRT achieves classification

Methods for Analysis of LPI Radar Signals

2006 IEEE 14th Signal Processing and Communications Applications, 2006
LPI (Low Probability of Intercept) radars occupy wide frequency bands and have very low peak power so they are difficult to be detected by hostile intercept receivers. Hostile radiometric receivers are not able to intercept and measure the parameters of LPI signals which lie in wide frequency bands.

Poly-phase signal design for LPI radar

2017 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Instrumentation and Control Technologies (ICICICT), 2017
This paper address the problem of constructing a new hybrid waveform design using poly-phase modulation techniques to optimize detection performance of LPI radar. phase code pulse compression waveforms using Frequency hopping are designed to reduced the radio frequency signals being intercepted. Poly-phase coded signals such as Quaternary phase(4-phase)

Sidelobe suppression of LPI phase-coded radar signal

IET International Conference on Radar Systems 2007, 2007
Sidelobe suppression is one of the major subjects in LPI phase-coded signal processing. Low sidelobe level is essential for target detection. Traditional sidelobe reduction techniques are not effective for phase-coded signal unless large calculation is involved.

Mutual information–based LPI optimisation for radar network

International Journal of Electronics, 2014
Radar network can offer significant performance improvement for target detection and information extraction employing spatial diversity. For a fixed number of radars, the achievable mutual information (MI) for estimating the target parameters may extend beyond a predefined threshold with full power transmission.

Radar power control method based on IMM-IF in LPI radar network

2016 CIE International Conference on Radar (RADAR), 2016
In order to achieve the important tactical requirement of low probability of intercept (LPI) in the radar network, dynamically controlling the emission of the radars is very necessary. Firstly, a data fusion method based on an interacting multiple model and information filtering (IMM-IF) algorithm is presented.

LPI-Based OFDM Radar Waveform Design in a Cooperative Radar-Communications System

2019 IEEE International Conference on Signal, Information and Data Processing (ICSIDP), 2019
This paper investigates the problem of low probability of intercept (LPI)-based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) radar waveform design in a cooperative radar-communications system, where the communications base station (CBS) is able to receive and process the radar transmissions.

A detection algorithm of LPI radar signals

Signal Processing Algorithms, Architectures, Arrangements, and Applications SPA 2007, 2007
Low Probability Intercept (LPI) signals are a class of radar signals that possess certain features (low power, wide bandwidth, frequency variability, ...) that make them difficult detectable by today's intercept receivers. The paper describes implementation of a LPI radar signal detection algorithm based on two-dimensional signal representation, noise ...
