LPWAN downlink using broadcast transmitters
2017 IEEE International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting (BMSB), 2017Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs) are a network type for connecting thousands of ultra-low power sensor-nodes to a base-station network, mainly using license-exempt frequency bands. Although the sensor-nodes use a transmit power of 10mW, such systems can reach a transmit distance of up to 40km by means of ultra-low payload bit-rates.

Determining Location in LPWAN using Multilateration
2019 2nd International Colloquium on Smart Grid Metrology (SMAGRIMET), 2019Multilateration (MLaT) is a method of determining a position of a device, using time difference of arrival (TDoA), where a device must be in range of at least three receiving signal antennas. In introduction of this paper short background of multilateration is given and motivation for replacing GPS is presented.
