Applying LS-DYNA to construct virtual experiment system
2010 2nd International Conference on Education Technology and Computer, 2010In the field of teaching, virtual experiment is increasingly becoming an important supplement to the real experiment, and it has been successfully used in many of the teaching curriculum. The finite element software LS-DYNA is applied in the field of Virtual experiments.

Multiphase and Chemically Reactive Flows in LS-DYNA
21st AIAA Computational Fluid Dynamics Conference, 2013We have developed a transient multiphase fluid dynamics and chemically reactive flow simulation capability in conjunction with the existing LS-DYNA FEM structure solver, which is a well-known general-purpose highly nonlinear, transient dynamic finite element software capable of simulating complex real world problems, and is widely used in automobile ...

LS‐DYNA and the 8:1 differentially heated cavity
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2001AbstractThis paper presents results computed using LS‐DYNA's new incompressible flow solver for a differentially heated cavity with an 8:1 aspect ratio at a slightly super‐critical Rayleigh number. Three Galerkin‐based solution methods are applied to the 8:1 thermal cavity on a sequence of four grids.

LS-DYNA Simulation Influence on Roadside Hardware
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2004Several new roadside safety appurtenances that can be directly linked to the use of nonlinear finite element analysis with LS-DYNA are being installed along the nation's roadways. These advances can be attributed to FHWA's sponsored research program known as Centers of Excellence in DYNA3D Analysis.

Evaluating and Improving Locomotive Crashworthiness Using LS-DYNA
Rail Transportation, 2000Abstract Representative structural models of locomotives, other rail vehicles, and other potential colliding objects were combined into moving consists which were then subjected to various collision scenarios. The LS-DYNA dynamic finite-element modeling code was utilized to realistically simulate collisions and guide understanding and ...

Crashworthiness Simulations Comparing PAM-CRASH and LS-DYNA
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2004<div class="htmlview paragraph">Finite element models of vehicles have been increasingly used in component design and crashworthiness evaluation. As vehicle finite element models are becoming more sophisticated in terms of their accuracy, robustness, fidelity, and size, the need to compare different FEA codes has become more apparent.

Simulation of the Childbirth Process in
Abstract Childbirth or labor, as the final phase of a pregnancy, is a biomechanical process that delivers the fetus from the uterus. It mainly involves two important biological structures in the mother, the uterus—generating the pushing force on the fetus—and the pelvis (bony pelvis and pelvic floor muscles)—resisting the movement of the

ALE and Fluid/Structure Interaction in LS-DYNA
Emerging Technology in Fluids, Structures, and Fluid Structure Interactions: Volume 1, Fluid Dynamics and Fluid Structure Interactions, 2004Fluid-structure interactions play an important role in many different types of real-world situations and industrial applications involving large structural deformation and material or geometric nonlinearities. Numerical problems due to element distortions limit the applicability of a Lagrangian description of motion when modeling large deformation ...

Overhead Guard Physical Tests vs LS-DYNA FE Simulations
SAE International Journal of Commercial Vehicles, 2016<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">The lifting and excavating industry are not as advanced as automotive in the use of modern CAE tools in the early stages of design and development of heavy machinery. There is still a lack of confidence in the integrity of the results from FE simulations and optimisation and this
