Shallow Shear‐Wave Reflection Surveys in the Wellington Central Business District

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 1, March 2026.
Seismic reflection profiling using shear waves provides constraints on the thickness of sediments beneath the Wellington Central Business District. Standard seismic methods were modified for urban environments where limited grassed areas are available and levels of cultural noise are high.

System Integration and Field Testing of Low‐Cost Autonomous Platooning Platforms: Collision Avoidance Scenario

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, Volume 43, Issue 2, Page 847-878, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents the development and validation of a scalable platooning system based on the predecessor‐following (PF) topology, designed for low‐cost follower platforms. It integrates key technologies such as localization, path planning, profile generation, and low‐level control to create a practical solution.

Artificial Intelligence‐Enhanced Electrocardiography for Predicting Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation From Sinus Rhythm: Impact of Data Integration Across Institutions and Devices

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 31, Issue 2, March 2026.
We developed CNN models using sinus rhythm ECG data from two institutions using distinct ECG systems. A fine‐tuned model trained on homogeneous datasets from cardiology departments consistently achieved high performance, whereas a model trained on heterogeneous datasets demonstrated lower performance.

Ion‐Selective Microporous Membranes via One‐Step Copolymerization Enable High‐Performance Redox Flow Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 12, 9 February 2026.
A scalable one‐step copolymerization strategy is developed to produce low‐cost microporous ion exchange membranes that boost both the efficiency and lifespan of flow batteries. When combined with organic electrolytes in aqueous systems, these membranes enable safe and cheap flow battery energy storage, supporting the widespread integration of renewable

Exclusive Se‐O Coordination and Fe‐doping Complementation: A Catalytic Strategy for Enhanced Sulfur Redox in Li‐S Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 9, 13 February 2026.
Exclusive Se‐O coordination and Fe‐doping complementation significantly improve conductivity and modulate the d‐band centers, which strongly anchor polysulfides in bidirectional catalysis and reduce the energy barriers for the Li2S nucleation and dissociation, achieving high‐apacity retention, exceptional rate capability, and stable cycling capability.

Unveiling the Formation and Evolution of the Cathode–Electrolyte Interphase in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 9, 13 February 2026.
By integrating electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), background‐subtracted in situ Fourier‐transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), this work reveals electrolyte decomposition and the reduced species involved in forming the cathode–electrolyte interphase (CEI) in lithium–sulfur batteries (LSBs), offering ...

Co3O4/C‐NFs Induced 3D Electric Field Enhancement for Dual‐Regulation of Polysulfides and Li+ Transport in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
A nano‐framework structured Co3O4/C catalyst with 3D electric field enhancement is designed to facilitate the mass transfer of both Li⁺ and lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) in lithium–sulfur batteries (LSBs). The enhanced electric‐field–driven migration significantly accelerates sulfur reduction reaction (SRR) kinetics while suppressing the shuttle effect ...
