Validation of the TIMELINE AVHRR Land Surface Temperature (LST) Product with MODIS and in situ LST [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Land Surface Temperature (LST) is an important quantity describing the interface between long- and shortwave radiation fluxes on one side and turbulent heat fluxes and the ground heat flux on the other side. Therefore, it is a useful parameter for tracing the impact of changing climatic conditions on our environment.

Flexibilizing inorganic thermoelectrics

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
This perspective reviews advances in flexible inorganic thermoelectric materials, covering ductile bulks, thin films, and fibers/yarns. It highlights strategies like warm metalworking, van der Waals material screening, orientation and sandwich engineering, and device integration, offering pathways to combine flexibility and performance for wearable ...

Evaluation of a Partial Ban on Rx‐Rebates in Germany

open access: yesHealth Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigate patients' price sensitivity for prescription (Rx) drugs with regards to patronizing online or brick‐and‐mortar pharmacies. In doing so, we exploit a policy change in Germany that prohibited online pharmacies from granting rebates to one part of the population, the members of the statutory health insurance scheme.

Solid–Liquid Triboelectric Nanogenerators as Physicochemical Encoders for Intelligent Liquid Recognition

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, EarlyView.
Solid–liquid triboelectric nanogenerators are conceptualized as dynamic physicochemical encoders that encode intrinsic liquid properties into distinguishable triboelectric fingerprints. This review provides a unified framework for these platforms, covering sensing mechanisms in droplet impact, continuous flow, and immersion modes.

Assessing Spatiotemporal Variations of Landsat Land Surface Temperature and Multispectral Indices in the Arctic Mackenzie Delta Region between 1985 and 2018

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
Air temperatures in the Arctic have increased substantially over the last decades, which has extensively altered the properties of the land surface. Capturing the state and dynamics of Land Surface Temperatures (LSTs) at high spatial detail is of high ...

A spatiotemporal single‐cell atlas of porcine development reveals regulatory dynamics and cellular targets of domestication

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
This study presents a cross‐tissue, single‐cell/single‐nucleus transcriptomic atlas spanning from prenatal to postnatal developmental stages in pig, characterizing 83 distinct cell types from 252,033 cells. Through the construction of cross‐tissue transcriptional regulatory networks and pseudotime trajectories, we revealed that organogenesis is driven ...

ALPs searches with LST-1

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Axions and axion-like particles (ALPs) are hypothetical particles predicted by several extensions of the Standard Model and viable candidates for solving one of the big mysteries of the Universe: Dark Matter. By exploring the spectra of astrophysical objects obtained from observations with the Large Size Telescope (LST-1), we can search for signatures ...

AI‐Powered Gradient Echo Plural Contrast Imaging (AI‐GEPCI)—A Comprehensive Neurological Protocol From a Single MRI Scan

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background MRI is essential for diagnosing and monitoring neurological diseases. Conventional protocols require multiple sequences to obtain complementary contrasts, increasing scan time, cost, and tolerability. Generating multiple contrasts from a single acquisition may streamline workflow while maintaining clinical utility.
