Auction-Based Coopetition between LTE Unlicensed and Wi-Fi
Motivated by the recent efforts in extending LTE to the unlicensed spectrum, we propose a novel spectrum sharing framework for the coopetition (i.e., cooperation and competition) between LTE and Wi-Fi in the unlicensed band.

Preliminary study for the measurement of the Lense-Thirring effect with the Galileo satellites [PDF]
The precession of the orbital node of a particle orbiting a rotating mass is known as Lense-Thirring effect (LTE) and is a manifestation of the general relativistic phenomenon of dragging of inertial frames or frame-dragging.

Red Supergiant Stars as Cosmic Abundance Probes: NLTE Effects in J-band Iron and Titanium Lines
Detailed non-LTE calculations for red supergiant stars are presented to investigate the influence of NLTE on the formation of atomic iron and titanium lines in the J-band.

Effective temperature determinations of late-type stars based on 3D non-LTE Balmer line formation [PDF]
Hydrogen Balmer lines are commonly used as spectroscopic effective temperature diagnostics of late-type stars. However, the absolute accuracy of classical methods that are based on one-dimensional (1D) hydrostatic model atmospheres and local ...

Some prey species have evolved background matching, that is they resemble their surrounding environment in terms of colour and/or brightness. When prey populations inhabit patchy environments, they may even have evolved specialised phenotypes: each phenotype matching a specific subset of patches.

ABSTRACT This paper is concerned with the platooning control problem of connected automated vehicles (CAVs) under non‐uniform stochastic vehicle‐to‐vehicle (V2V) communication delays. Most existing relevant studies assume uniform or deterministic or slowly varying delays, or design platoon controllers based on worst‐case delay bounds, resulting in ...

A BeppoSAX observation of the supersoft source 1E 0035.4-7230 [PDF]
Results from a 37,000 s BeppoSAX Low-Energy Concentrator Spectrometer (LECS) observation of the supersoft source SMC 13 (=1E 0035.4-7230) in the Small Magellanic Cloud are reported. The BeppoSAX spectrum is fitted either with a blackbody spectrum with an
