Principal Characteristics of Boundary Lubrication
A S L E Transactions, 1986Kinetic equations for transition temperatures of lubricants under boundary lubrication are suggested. These equations are based on kinetic characteristics which are determined from laboratory test data and confirmed by experiments which have been carried out on different test machines.

Characteristics of dual lubricant layers
Digest of INTERMAG 2003. International Magnetics Conference (Cat. No.03CH37401), 2003Lubricant characteristics of dual lubricant layers, which consist of a first-lubricant bonded layer and second-lubricant mobile layer, were studied. The interface durability is evaluated by a pin-on-disk test. The spin-migration characteristic is evaluated based on the change in thickness of layers after disk spinning.

Characteristic effects of DDC lubrication
Lubrication Science, 1993AbstractThis paper discusses deep disconnected cavities (DDC), a concept first introduced by the author. Disconnected shallow cavities or pockets have been treated by other authors, but the consequences of the extreme depths involved with DDC have not been recognised. The introductory paper established the existence of DDC effects.

Lubrication Characteristics of Water-Lubricated Rubber Bearings With Partial Wear
Journal of Fluids Engineering, 2019Abstract Water-lubricated rubber bearings are widely used in the propulsion shafting of military craft and ships. These bearings may wear down after a period of service, and consequently, their lubrication characteristics will change, affecting the operation of the shaft.

Characteristics of synthetic lubricating greases
Journal of Synthetic Lubrication, 1984AbstractA fundamental characteristic of syntbetic lubricating greases is their price; all cost significantly more, sometimes by several orders of magnitude, than conventional mineral oil based greases. This fact is likely to remain true for the foreseeable future, given a stable supply situation for petroleum feed stocks.

THE CHARACTERISTICS OF SILICONE BEARING LUBRICANTS
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1958<div class="htmlview paragraph">Research and development in the electric motor field have created the need for anti-friction bearing lubricants with long life and operability over an ever broadening temperature range. Silicone greases meet the requirements of many such applications.

IGNITION CHARACTERISTICS OF FUELS AND LUBRICANTS
1963Abstract : The combustibles included n-hexane, n-octane, n-decane, JP-6 jet fuel, aircraft engine oil MIL-L-7808, and other hydrocarbon materials. Expressions based on thermal ignition theory are given which correlate minimum autoignition and wire ignition temperatures of the combustible vapor-oxidant mixtures as a function of the heat source ...

The Influence of Lubricants on Static Friction Characteristics Under Boundary Lubrication
Journal of Tribology, 1985Based on a new boundary lubrication model, the characteristics of lubricants under boundary lubrication at low sliding speed and low contact pressure such as in machine tool slideways are investigated in relation to surface topography. It is clarified theoretically and ascertained experimentally that the property of lubricants under boundary ...

The Significant Rheological Characteristics of Lubricants
Journal of Lubrication Technology, 1968A substantial body of qualitative information concerning highly viscoelastic materials suggests they may be much superior to Newtonian fluids in some lubrication applications. Contrarily, most quantitative studies have predicted negligible or even adverse effects of the non-Newtonian behavior.
