Vickers indentation hardness of stoichiometric and reduced single crystal TiO2 (rutile) from 25 to 800 C [PDF]
The indentation microhardness of stoichiometric and reduced single crystal rutile (TiO2) from 25 to 800 C is presented in this paper. The results serve two main purposes. One is to assess the effect of rutile's stoichiometry on its hardness. The other is

Integrated multi‐omic profiling maps the gene‐regulatory landscape of the coelomic mesothelium across heart, lung, and pancreas. A cardiac‐restricted regulatory program is uncovered in which TBX20 activates heart mesothelial (epicardial) cis‐regulatory elements, while MAF emerges as a conserved regulator of mesothelial identity.

Hydrodynamic lift on bound vesicles
Bound vesicles subject to lateral forces such as arising from shear flow are investigated theoretically by combining a lubrication analysis of the bound part with a scaling approach to the global motion.

Scalable Laser Processing Enables Transparent, Accretion Scale‐Independent, Ice‐Shedding Glass
We demonstrate a scalable laser‐based method to create wave‐like micro‐patterns on glass surfaces that counter the conventional view that roughness increases ice adhesion. These patterns direct crack propagation at the ice–glass interface, enabling low‐force, multi‐directional ice detachment while maintaining substrate transparency. A theoretical model

The lubrication states between the friction pairs in lubrications have an important effect on its tribological behavior. Therefore, the aim of this complementary data article is to identify the corresponding lubrication states between bone and Ti–6Al–4V ...

(a) The outstanding lubricative properties of natural articular cartilage arise from a composite coating composed of HA, lubricin, and phospholipids at its surface. Notably, lubricin facilitates the enrichment of synovial HA onto cartilage surfaces, and HA complexes with phospholipids, a key component to maintain extremely low friction under high ...

Here we demonstrate that weak HB CH donor cyanostilbenes promote water/ion transport through their ability to form less‐ordered transient water channels within the lipid bilayer with increased water permeability and NO3−/ Cl− selectivity. ABSTRACT Transmembrane water transport strongly depends on how dynamic, translocating water clusters are stabilized

Site‐Specific Hydroxide Formation and Corrosion on Mg Nanocrystals
Using single‐crystalline Mg nanocrystals, this study uncovers the intrinsic corrosion initiation mechanism. The stability of the protective Mg(OH)2 film depends on its interfacial coherence with the Mg substrate. Corrosion initiates at exposed corners, where film coverage is incomplete.
