Decomposition of terms in Lucas sequences
Let N be any large integer. Proceeding directly to the factorization of N is not an easy task, even unfeasible unless N belongs to a particular family of integers. Then to surmount this major difficulty we might choose to ask about the factorization of an integer in a small neighborhood of N instead of N .

Functional Ambidexterity of an Ancient Nucleic Acid‐Binding Domain
The helix‐hairpin‐helix (HhH) motif is an ancient and ubiquitous nucleic acid‐binding element that has emerged as a model system for studying the evolution of dsDNA‐binding domains from simple peptides that phase separate with RNA. We analyzed the entire putative evolutionary trajectory of the HhH motif – from a flexible peptide to a folded domain ...

A new spin on chemotaxonomy: Using non‐proteogenic amino acids as a test case
Abstract Premise Specialized metabolites serve various roles for plants and humans. Unlike core metabolites, specialized metabolites are restricted to certain plant lineages; thus, in addition to their ecological functions, specialized metabolites can serve as diagnostic markers of plant lineages.

Combinatorial Sums $\sum_{k\equiv r(\mbox{mod } m)}{n\choose k}a^k$ and Lucas Quotients [PDF]
In this paper, we study the combinatorial sum $$\sum_{k\equiv r(\mbox{mod }m)}{n\choose k}a^k.$$ By studying this sum, we obtain new congruences for Lucas quotients of two infinite families of Lucas sequences. Only for three Lucas sequences, there are such known results.

On members of Lucas sequences which are products of Catalan numbers [PDF]
We show that if $\{U_n\}_{n\geq 0}$ is a Lucas sequence, then the largest $n$ such that $|U_n|=C_{m_1}C_{m_2}\cdots C_{m_k}$ with $1\leq m_1\leq m_2\leq \cdots\leq m_k$, where $C_m$ is the $m$th Catalan number satisfies $n<6500$. In case the roots of the Lucas sequence are real, we have $n\in \{1,2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12\}$. As a consequence, we show that if $

Abstract Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a hematological disorder with complex clinical and biological behavior. TP53 mutational status and cytogenetic assessment of the deletion of the corresponding locus (17p13.1) are considered the most relevant biomarkers associated with pharmaco‐predictive response, chemo‐refractoriness, and worse prognosis ...
