Nutritional and oil characteristics of the seeds of angled Luffa Luffa acutangula
Food Chemistry, 1982Abstract Luffa seeds (L. acutangula), a member of the Cucurbitaceae family, were investigated for their potential nutritional and oil characteristics. The yield of seeds from the fruit was 33·5%, while the kernel was found to possess 50% of the seed weight.

Optimization of agrotechniques in the cultivation ofLuffa acutangula
Journal of Horticultural Science, 1993Germination requirements, flowering pattern, planting density and growing regimes were examined for Luffa acutangula (L.) Roxb. Maximum germination (50%) was obtained at 35°C, and at 8, 12, and 45°C germination was completely inhibited. Partial removal of the seed coat increased the percentage of germination while vernalization and exposure to salinity

Correlation studies in Ribbed gourd (Luffa acutangula L.)
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1973Ribbed gourd (Luffa acutangula L.) is a cucurbitaceous vegetable of South India. Observations were made in this crop to assess the yield of seed in relation to pod characters so that- the quantity of seeds in a pod can be known without breaking open the pod. A total of 150 fully mature and dry pods were studied for their characters viz., weight of pod,

Heterosis Analysis in Ridge Gourd [Luffa acutangula (L.) Roxb.]
Biological ForumAn experiment was conducted in randomized block design with three replications (kharif, 2023) to study the magnitude of heterosis and to assess the parents and crosses in the expression of fruit yield and its components for twelve characters in ridge gourd [Luffa acutangula (L.) Roxb.].
