QTL mapping reveals candidate genes for main agronomic traits in Luffa based on a high-resolution genetic map

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Luffa is an important medicinal and edible vegetable crop of Cucurbitaceae. Strong heterosis effects and strikingly complementary characteristics were found between the two domesticated Luffa cultivars, Luffa acutangula and Luffa cylindrica.

Dye adsorption behavior of Luffa cylindrica fibers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hazardous Materials, 2008
Using natural Luffa cylindrica fibers as adsorbent removal of methylene blue dye from aqueous solutions at different temperatures and dye concentrations was investigated in this study. Thermodynamics and kinetics of adsorption were also investigated. The adsorption isotherms could be well defined with Langmuir model instead of Freundlich model.

Impact of Acid Dopants (HCl vs. H2SO4) on the Structure, Performance, and Reusability of Bio-Based Luffa/Polyaniline Composites for Methylene Blue Adsorption. [PDF]

open access: yesChemistryOpen
Evaluation of the impact of acidic dopants (HCl vs. H2SO4) on bio‐derived luffa/polyaniline composites for methylene blue adsorption. Sustainable and low‐cost Luffa cylindrica/polyaniline (LC/PAN) composite adsorbents were developed for the removal of methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solutions. The effect of acid dopants (hydrochloric acid and sulfuric
